Why these ten stood out
1. MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls brings Marvel into a new tag-team fighter
PlayStation Studios, Arc System Works, and Marvel Games announced a fighting game with reimagined characters and stages. The stated design aim—approachable controls alongside depth for high-level competition—made it the event’s clearest new fighting-game announcement. Sony’s June 4 recap did not state a release date.
2. Project Defiant is a PlayStation-designed fight stick
Sony announced Project Defiant as its first wireless fight stick, with wireless play over PlayStation Link and a wired connection on PS5 or PC. The June 2025 plan was a 2026 release. That is an announcement-time target, not confirmation of current retail availability.
3. Nioh 3 lets players switch between Samurai and Ninja styles
Koei Tecmo and Team Ninja revealed the PS5 action RPG with two combat styles that can be switched instantly. Sony also announced a limited-time demo through PlayStation Store. The recap does not establish the demo’s current availability or give a release date for the full game.

7. 007 First Light tells a young James Bond origin story
IO Interactive introduced a third-person action-adventure about a young, maverick Bond on his way to becoming an MI6 agent. Sony’s June recap said it was planned for PS5 in 2026.
