Which Nightreign secrets are confirmed, and which are reports?
The strongest evidence varies by discovery. Bandai Namco’s patch notes confirm that map use can reveal clues in the Great Hollow Shifting Earth. A July 2025 guide reports hidden rooms in the ruin layouts its writers checked. The Cord End cave and its contents are reported by PC Gamer, while specific treasure rewards come from player anecdotes. The giant figures remain an open mystery, not a solved piece of lore.

1–5. Find the hidden room in the ruins
Ruins can contain more than their obvious route through enemies and loot. A July 2025 Jeuxvideo.com guide says its writers found a secret room in every ruin configuration they checked. That is a report about the layouts they explored, not a guarantee that every ruin in every expedition has one. The entrance changes with the layout, so look for suspicious walls and floors rather than following a single fixed route.
1. Check behind the far wall in staircase ruins
In a layout with a central staircase, the guide directs players to the far end and around the back of a large wall. This is a useful first check when the ruin’s main route seems to end at a substantial wall.

2. Search near the boss in sprawling ruins
In a more sprawling layout, the concealed room is reported near the boss area, behind a low, ruined wall that looks out of place. Players have also described landmarks such as an area by the watchdog boss and a broken tower, but those descriptions are community observations, not a universal route.
3. Strike suspicious flooring to expose stairs
Once you find a suspicious surface, hit it: the guide says the strike reveals the concealed staircase. It also reports that you can reach the room without defeating the boss first. That can make checking the entrance worthwhile even when you do not intend to clear the whole ruin.
4. Open both chests
The room reportedly contains two chests. Their possible rewards include weapons, higher-rarity consumables, and a random talisman; no particular item is guaranteed. Treat the room as a chance at useful loot, not a reliable way to obtain a specific build piece.

5. Spend exploration time where the layout justifies it
Because the entrance is layout-dependent, do a quick scan of likely wall and floor features rather than exhaustively striking every surface. An expedition has two exploration days before the third-day Nightlord showdown, according to Bandai Namco’s official starter guide, dated June 17, 2025. Prioritize a ruin when its structure offers a plausible hiding place or you have time to investigate.

6. Check the map for hidden clues
Map-assisted discovery in the Great Hollow Shifting Earth is an official feature, not just a player theory. Bandai Namco’s Version 1.03.1 notes say: “Expanded the range of clues discovered when using a map to reveal hidden clues in the Great Hollow Shifting Earth.” If you are exploring this shifting-earth area, consult the map as part of your search instead of relying only on what is visible from the ground.
7. Follow treasure clues, but expect variable contents
Players in a community discussion report finding weapons, talismans, Stonesword Keys, perfume bottles, and cracked tears at treasure locations. Those are examples from player reports, not an official loot table; the available reporting does not establish that every clue leads to one of these items or that any reward is guaranteed.

8–9. Use the Cord End at the sealed cave door
8. Look for the door beneath the central castle
PC Gamer reports that the rare Cord End opens a cave door beneath the map’s central castle. The item reportedly drops in churches that appear randomly, so finding it depends on the expedition’s available locations as well as exploration. PC Gamer attributes a 0.035% drop estimate to YouTuber Hawkshaw; that is not an official published drop rate, so it should not be treated as a verified probability.
9. Expect three Sacrificial Twigs, not a confirmed hidden ending
The reported cave reward is three Sacrificial Twigs. PC Gamer describes the items as useful but modest, and does not verify a further quest step or grand secret unlocked by entering the cave. Players have speculated that the Cord End may have another purpose, but the reported door and its contents are the concrete use established in that coverage.
10. Watch for the giant figures—but treat their identity as unknown
GamesRadar reports enormous, tree-like figures appearing as expeditions progress. Their identity has not been explained in the available coverage. Suggestions that they are connected to bosses or Nightlords remain theories, so the figures are best treated as a visual mystery rather than confirmed lore or an Easter egg with a known answer.
