Weapon and equipment controls you may miss
1. Recoilless Rifles and Autocannons gained programmable ammunition
Arrowhead’s October 29, 2024 patch notes say the GR-8 Recoilless Rifle and AC-8 Autocannon gained programmable ammunition. That means each should not automatically be treated as having only one role: check its current weapon-function controls and available ammunition before a mission. 2. Backpack drones can be switched on or off
The same October 2024 notes say backpack drones can be toggled. This gives you a way to manage drone behavior instead of leaving it active continuously. The notes do not specify a universal current input, so check the relevant control in your settings. Arrowhead’s patch notes.
3. Weapon functions can have separate keybinds
Arrowhead’s February 3, 2026 patch notes describe new, unbound keybind options for swapping weapon functions, including fire modes and ammunition. The notes name the Halt, Autocannon, and One Two AR as examples. If you frequently change a weapon’s mode, you can assign a dedicated key rather than rely on the default interaction flow. 4. Some delivered supplies show on the minimap
Arrowhead’s October 2024 notes say exosuits and support stratagems are among the additional supply items visible on the minimap. This can help a squad find delivered equipment after the initial call-in. October 29, 2024 patch notes.

6. Assisted reloads do not require the helper alone to carry the backpack
Arrowhead’s official description of the assisted-reload rework says the reload can work as long as the weapon wielder and/or the reloader has the correct backpack. This makes it easier to coordinate who carries the pack, but the weapon and backpack still need to be the correct pairing. 7. Blunt-Force Mitigation reduces impact damage by 30%
The named Blunt-Force Mitigation armor passive is described as increasing resistance to being knocked off your feet, reducing impact and collision damage by 30%, and providing a higher armor rating. 8. Surplus EAT Allocation grants two additional EAT uses per mission
The Surplus EAT Allocation booster’s official description says it provides two free uses of the Expendable Anti-Tank stratagem per mission. It also describes distribution that can supply a four-person squad with one single-use launcher each. 9. Integrated Extinguishers helps put out flames sooner

10. A jump pack, danger indicator, and cape each have a hidden detail
Arrowhead’s December 2024 notes say the LIFT-850 Jump Pack’s landing thrusters prevent fall damage when they engage. The same update says the HUD displays a danger vignette while environmental danger is being taken. Separately, an official announcement notes that the Shroud of the Juggernaut cape pattern contains a concealed Morse-code message. Consider the enemies’ armor and the terrain, whether your loadout needs damage or utility, whether the relevant backpack is available, and how much coordination your squad can provide. The documented penetration categories and reload behavior can inform those decisions, but they do not establish a universally best loadout or a current weapon ranking.
