1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsPowerWash Simulator 2 keeps the original’s relaxed cleaning premise while adding more variety to dirt, jobs, traversal, and co-op. FuturLab describes the sequel as an expansion of the first game; its new features are intended to give players more ways to approach a clean, not to turn it into a different kind of game. The ten improvements below are an editorial ranking, not an official order from the developer.
1. Dirt has more visual character
FuturLab Lead Game Designer Nick McCarthy says the sequel introduces new dirt types and uses ambient occlusion to give grime more visual depth. The developer also says particles match the texture and color of the dirt being washed away, so the mess itself can offer a clearer visual cue about what remains. These are design claims from the developer, not independent measurements of cleaning or rendering performance. Xbox Wire’s launch interview explains the approach.
2. Dirt can be layered in more combinations
McCarthy says the team can combine easy and tough dirt layers in ways that were not possible before, producing more varied-looking surfaces. That gives designers another way to make a job feel distinct: the challenge can come from how grime is layered, not just from the size of the object or area.
3. The campaign starts with 38 new Career Job missions
FuturLab’s stated count is 38 new Career Job missions, set across new buildings and environments and tied to a new story. That is the developer’s reported mission count, rather than an independently audited tally. Xbox Wire’s October 23, 2025 interview gives the figure and describes the campaign’s new setting.

4. Some jobs unfold across multiple areas
Instead of treating every assignment as one uninterrupted surface, the Steam listing describes multi-stage jobs that unlock different areas. Its examples include vehicle interiors and separate rooms. This structure can make a single commission feel more like a sequence of connected cleaning tasks, with access to new spaces as part of its progression. Steam’s game listing describes the feature.
5. New traversal tools help reach awkward places
FuturLab identifies a scissor lift and abseiling mechanics as ways to reach inconvenient ledges and scale large walls. Steam describes the equipment as a cherry picker and an abseiling rig. These additions address access to high or awkward surfaces; the available descriptions do not establish a measured time saving over the original game. The developer interview and Steam listing outline the options.

6. A surface cleaner targets broad areas
The sequel adds a surface cleaner intended for large areas, according to Steam’s feature description. It gives players a tool designed around broad surfaces rather than small details, although no comparative speed or efficiency figure is established. Steam’s listing names the tool and its purpose.
7. Foam soap changes the order of a stubborn clean
FuturLab says foam softens stubborn dirt and can then be removed with any nozzle; Steam describes soap that clings to stubborn stains. The useful change is the sequence: apply foam to a tough patch, then return to washing with a nozzle. This is a developer and storefront description, not a quantified claim about how much faster the job becomes. See FuturLab’s Xbox Wire interview and the Steam listing.

8. A home base adds decorating and smaller tasks
Players can collect furniture and trinkets, decorate a hub, and invite friends. FuturLab also describes the home base as a place for collectibles and clues that add world-building, while cleanable furniture provides smaller cleaning tasks between larger jobs. The hub therefore connects customization, optional story details, and more bite-sized cleaning. Xbox Wire’s launch interview and Steam’s description cover the feature.
9. Online career co-op shares progression and rewards
FuturLab says up to four players can join Career mode and earn equal progression and rewards. The developer presented this as a change from the host-and-guest disparity it discussed in relation to the earlier game. For players, the practical point is that career co-op is designed to reward everyone in the group, rather than leaving progression centered on the host. FuturLab’s Xbox Wire interview explains the progression approach.

10. Local split-screen gives co-op a couch option
FuturLab calls local couch co-op new to the series, allowing two players to clean side by side. The Nintendo Switch 2 listing specifies up to four online players or two local players; that count is specific to the Switch 2 listing. Steam lists online co-op, shared/split-screen co-op, and cross-platform multiplayer, so check the relevant storefront for the version you play rather than assuming every platform has identical multiplayer details. Nintendo’s Switch 2 listing and Steam’s listing provide platform-specific information.

The sequel’s clearest shift is breadth: more visual variety in grime, more ways to reach or clean surfaces, jobs that can open into additional spaces, and co-op options for both online groups and local pairs. FuturLab frames the game as a continuation of the first PowerWash Simulator, with new features, equipment, and quality-of-life changes. The available developer and storefront descriptions establish those additions, but they do not provide controlled comparisons proving that jobs are faster or the overall experience is objectively better. FuturLab’s games catalogue describes the studio’s design approach and lists the sequel.
