Green Goblin, Nightcrawler and Silver Surfer could each bring a distinct character fantasy to Marvel Rivals—from a Spider-Man nemesis on a glider to a cosmic arrival. These are wishlist picks, not confirmed additions. They pair familiar Marvel faces with less obvious choices, in keeping with Marvel Games executive producer Danny Koo’s description of the game’s mix of popular characters and unexpected deep cuts. His interview offered no confirmation of anyone on this list.
Why these characters could fit Marvel Rivals
Marvel Rivals is a team-based PvP shooter built around heroes and villains, distinct character abilities, team synergy and destructible maps. Its original announcement described 6v6 action and recurring seasonal hero additions. That evolving roster makes room for different kinds of wishlists: characters readers already know, and picks whose unusual visual or story hooks could make them memorable in a team fight.
Season 10 began September 11, 2026, with Gorr the God Butcher introduced as a new villain. That is an example of the roster changing through seasonal updates—not a clue that any of the following characters are on the way. Koo said, “Always expect the unexpected,” and described the appeal of combining familiar names with curveballs and deep cuts. The ten suggestions below are our own editorial choices. Any gameplay concepts are possibilities, not established designs.
Ten Marvel characters we’d like to see
1. Green Goblin
Norman Osborn is one of Spider-Man’s greatest enemies, and the Goblin Glider and pumpkin bombs give him an instantly legible visual identity. He could make a compelling villain pick because his rivalry with Spider-Man is familiar even to casual Marvel fans. A fast, aerial, gadget-focused kit is an appealing possibility, but it is a wishlist idea—not a reported plan.

2. Doctor Octopus
Otto Octavius’s mechanical tentacles offer an obvious hook for a character who could threaten opponents from several directions. Marvel describes him as a scientist and inventor whose tentacles are fused to his body and brain. That could inspire long reach, crowd control or attacks that pressure multiple angles, though none of those mechanics are confirmed. The key is making his tentacles feel different from a conventional close-range brawler.
3. Moon Knight
Moon Knight would bring a mythic, identity-centered story to the roster. Marvel’s on-screen profile identifies Marc Spector and Steven Grant and places their story among Egyptian gods. That background gives the character a tone distinct from a straightforward costumed hero. Rather than assume a particular role or power set, the strongest case for him is the chance to bring that unusual character perspective into a team-based game.

- HIGHLY ARTICULATED FIGURE: Features 90 points of articulation allowing for dynamic action poses and display options, bringing Venom to life from Marvel Rivals

- PERFECT SIZE: Stands approximately 6 inches tall, making it an ideal display piece for desks, shelves, or alongside other Marvel collectibles
4. Nightcrawler
Teleportation is an immediately understandable starting point for a mobility-focused character, while Nightcrawler’s caring and loyal personality keeps the pitch from being only about a power. Marvel’s X-Men ’97 role-playing sheet describes him as caring and loyal and lists teleportation among his powers. A design could explore sudden repositioning or rescue-style plays, but those are creative possibilities rather than a description of an announced kit.
5. Ghost Rider
Ghost Rider would add a supernatural antihero and a striking visual register: fire, chains and a Spirit of Vengeance. Marvel describes Ghost Riders as hosts bonded to Spirits of Vengeance who use hellish powers against evildoers. That premise could translate into a dramatic presence on the battlefield, without requiring the character to duplicate another fiery or close-combat fighter. The specific gameplay would be up to the developers.
Rank #3
- BLOKEES ACTION FIGURE: Officially branded Moon Knight-style armored action figure with striking white and dark armor design.
- DETAILED SCULPT: Features intricate armor plating, crescent moon symbols, Egyptian ankh markings, and a dramatic flowing white cape.
- ICONIC DESIGN: Front and back cape detailing includes a crescent moon emblem, with a hooded cowl and full-body armored suit.
- DISPLAY READY: Dynamic pose-ready figure with articulated limbs, making it perfect for display on shelves or desks.
- GREAT FOR COLLECTORS: A must-have addition for fans of armored superhero action figures.
6. Vision
Vision has a recognizable place in Avengers history, but his synthetic-hero identity could make him more than another familiar team member. Marvel lists him among former Avengers. A distinctive interpretation might emphasize the contrast between a composed, artificial being and the chaos of a destructible arena; any mechanics built around that idea would be speculation. He is a strong pick for a roster that can benefit from characters whose identity is as interesting as their combat style.
7. Ant-Man
Ant-Man’s association with size-changing suggests playful possibilities for interacting with an arena, which could make him stand out in a game with destructible environments. Marvel lists Ant-Man among former Avengers. That is the character hook, not a claim that the game would let him shrink, grow or manipulate map objects in a particular way. The challenge—and the opportunity—would be turning a familiar concept into clear, readable team-fight play.
Rank #4

- LIVING ARSENAL: Frank Castle, or The Punisher, expertly wields a full arsenal of futuristic weapons and has a steadfast resolve to deliver justice to his enemies
8. Wasp
Wasp would make a natural wishlist companion to Ant-Man, while giving the developers a chance to show how two connected characters can feel distinct rather than like variations on one kit. Marvel also lists Wasp among former Avengers. Her inclusion would broaden the team’s Avengers connections and create room for a character-specific approach to movement or battlefield presence, if the developers chose to explore those ideas.
9. Mystique
Mystique adds a relationship-driven pick to a list otherwise built around individual powers and visual hooks: Marvel’s Nightcrawler reference identifies her as his mother. Her shape-shifting identity also suggests possibilities for misdirection or deception, but a particular disguise mechanic or role is not established. The appeal is the combination of a personal connection to another wishlist character and a distinctive concept of her own.

10. Silver Surfer
Silver Surfer would widen this wishlist’s scope to a cosmic character. The high-level pitch is simple: a striking figure whose scale and look could make a different impression from street-level rivals and familiar team affiliations. This entry makes no claims about specific powers, history or a planned role; those details are not needed to explain why a cosmic-scale character could be an exciting addition.

The list is a fan perspective, not a forecast or a roster leak. Koo’s comments support the general idea that Marvel Rivals can mix well-known names with unexpected picks; they do not endorse these ten suggestions. The game’s roster can change with updates, so check the live in-game roster or official heroes page for current availability rather than treating this article as a definitive roster audit.
For readers who want to explore more Marvel characters in comics, Koo pointed to Marvel Unlimited in the same interview: D23’s interview with Danny Koo.
