Google Doodle games are playable browser experiences built into commemorative Google Doodles—not just animated logos or interactive artwork. This curated list covers 10 of the most memorable options, from the historically important Pac-Man to the much larger Doodle Champion Island Games.
There is no official all-time popularity ranking, so these picks balance recognizability, replay value, variety, and the likelihood that readers can still reach them through Google’s Doodle archive. Archived games may load or behave differently across browsers and devices, and multiplayer features may no longer work exactly as they did at launch.

1. Pac-Man: the landmark Google Doodle game
Google identifies the May 21, 2010 Pac-Man Doodle as its first interactive game Doodle. It transformed the logo into a playable maze, letting visitors chase a high score without needing an arcade machine or a pocketful of quarters.
#1 Best Overall
- WORKS FOR iPhone 16/15/15 Pro 6.1 Inch Display Screen 2024/2023 0.33mm tempered glass screen protector. Featuring maximum protection from scratches, scrapes, and bumps. [Not for iPhone 16e 6.1 inch, iPhone 15 Plus/iPhone 15 Pro Max/iPhone 16 Plus 6.7 inch, iPhone 16 Pro 6.3 inch, iPhone 16 Pro Max 6.9 inch]
- Specialty: HD ultra-clear rounded glass for iPhone 16/15/15 Pro is 99.99% touch-screen accurate.
- 99.99% High-definition clear hydrophobic and oleophobic screen coating protects against sweat and oil residue from fingerprints.
- It is 100% brand new, precise laser cut tempered glass, exquisitely polished. 0.33mm ultra-thin tempered glass screen protector provides sensor protection, maintains the original response sensitivity and touch, bringing you a good touch experience.
- Easiest Installation - removing dust and aligning it properly before actual installation, enjoy your screen as if it wasn't there.
The objective is familiar: guide Pac-Man through the maze, eat pellets, avoid ghosts, and use power pellets to turn the tables. Its instantly understandable rules make it the best starting point for anyone who wants the classic Google Doodle experience.
Best for: nostalgia, arcade fans, and repeat score attempts. The maze provides more replay value than many one-screen Doodles, although smaller touchscreens can make movement less comfortable.
2. Doodle Champion Island Games: the biggest experience
Doodle Champion Island Games is closer to a small adventure game than a brief browser diversion. You play as Lucky, a calico cat exploring an island containing seven sports mini-games, legendary opponents, side quests, and seven sacred scrolls to collect.
Its variety is the main attraction: instead of repeating one mechanic, you explore, compete, meet characters, and work through a larger structure. That makes it the strongest choice for readers who want more than five minutes of play.
Google’s original presentation included four teams and a real-time global leaderboard. Those live-event features should not be assumed to function identically in the archived version today. Older devices or slower connections may also take longer to load the experience.
Best for: players seeking the deepest and most ambitious Doodle on this list.
3. The Great Ghoul Duel: multiplayer ghost competition
Google describes The Great Ghoul Duel as its first multiplayer interactive game Doodle. At launch, two teams of up to four ghosts competed to collect wandering spirit flames and return them to base while disrupting the opposing team.
Rank #2
- Tempered Glass Display Protection: High-hardness tempered glass gives screen coverage against impact and scratches for your phone display
- 9H Surface Hardness for Scratch Resistance: Resists scratches from keys, coins, and daily wear — keeping your screen looking new through everyday use
- Crystal Clear with 100% Optical Clarity: Engineered to deliver the same vivid colors and sharpness as your bare screen — independently lab-tested at 100% clarity for true visibility
- Original Touch Experience Preserved: Ultra-thin glass maintains your screen's original touch sensitivity — no lag, no resistance, no difference.
- Full Sensor Compatibility: Face Unlock works through the front camera. Always-On display, At-a-Glance, and edge gestures preserved at original brightness
The rules are easy to understand, but the team format adds more interest than a basic score attack. You can focus on collecting, intercept opponents, or help protect your team’s return route.
Google’s original version supported invitations to friends and matches with randomized players. That describes the launch feature set, not a guarantee that online matchmaking or invitations remain active in the archive.
Best for: group play, provided the current page’s online features are available.
4. Cricket: the ideal quick game
In Cricket, you bat against incoming deliveries, time your swings, and try to build the highest score possible. Google later included it in its official “Stay and Play at Home with Popular Past Google Doodles” collection.

Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →The game starts quickly and works well for short breaks. It is an arcade-style interpretation rather than a full cricket simulation, so players unfamiliar with the sport can still understand the basic goal. Google also described the original Cricket Doodle as designed to load efficiently on slower mobile networks.
Best for: short solo sessions and repeat attempts at a better score.
5. Garden Gnomes: launch for distance
Garden Gnomes gives you a catapult and a collection of cheerful gnomes to launch across a landscape. The challenge is to manage the launch and send each gnome as far as possible.

- WARNING: Not compatible with iPhone Air, iPhone 17 Pro Max, iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro Max
- Made of premium high-quality tempered glass with a thickness of 0.33 mm and rounded edges. An ideal anti-break solution: Extremely high hardness, protects the phone screen from shocks and accidental damage.
- Dust-free installation, no fingerprints, easy with a single press, bubble-free. Oleophobic: a coating that prevents fingerprints and other contaminants, making the glass very easy to clean.
Its physics-based premise is simple, playful, and accessible to children and adults. Learning the basic strategy is quick, but improving your distance gives the game a reason to invite another attempt.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsThe mechanic can become repetitive once you understand it, so Garden Gnomes is best viewed as a polished casual diversion rather than a long-form game.
Best for: light physics play and distance-score chasing.
6. Magic Cat Academy: cast spells against ghosts
In Magic Cat Academy, you help a cat defend a magic academy by drawing symbols to cast spells at incoming ghosts. The Halloween setting gives it more atmosphere than a generic reflex game.
The visual gesture system is immediately readable, while successive waves increase the pressure. It has a strong “one more try” quality, but drawing can feel less precise on some trackpads and touchscreens. Difficulty also rises quickly.
Best for: Halloween fans and players who enjoy short reflex challenges.
7. Coding for Carrots: a gentle logic lesson
Coding for Carrots celebrates 50 years of kids’ coding. You arrange visual instruction blocks so a rabbit follows the correct path and collects carrots.

- PRECISE COMPATIBILITY: Designed exclusively for iPhone 16 6.1" and iPhone 15 6.1". Not compatible with iPhone 15 Pro, 15 Plus, 15 Pro Max, iPhone 16 Pro, 16 Plus or 16 Pro Max. Please check the exact model of your smartphone before purchase. European/global model: A3287.
- 3 PACK NEW'C SCREEN PROTECTORS + INSTALLATION FRAME: The pack includes 3 NEW'C tempered glass screen protectors for iPhone 16 6.1" and iPhone 15 6.1", plus a practical installation frame to help with accurate alignment and easy application. Ideal for replacing a worn or damaged protector while keeping a spare ready for use.
- ADHESION OPTIMIZED FOR SLIGHTLY CURVED EDGES – The slightly curved shape of the screen edges requires specialized adhesion. Our reinforced adhesive offers superior gap-filling capabilities to improve contact right up to the edges. The included smoothing card helps push out air bubbles and apply even pressure for a cleaner, more uniform installation.
- HIGH TRANSPARENCY & OLEOPHOBIC COATING: High transparency preserves the screen's sharpness, brightness, and colors. The oleophobic coating helps reduce fingerprints and smudges while making daily cleaning easier. 9H TEMPERED GLASS – 0.33 MM THICKNESS: Made from 0.33 mm tempered glass with 9H hardness, it helps protect the screen against scratches, scuffs, and minor everyday impacts, while maintaining excellent transparency.
- PRESERVED TOUCH SENSITIVITY & EASY INSTALLATION: The silicone adhesive layer ensures uniform, reliable adhesion to the screen while maintaining responsiveness and touch sensitivity. Quick and easy installation, designed to minimize bubble formation.
Because it uses blocks instead of programming syntax, the game introduces sequencing and basic algorithmic thinking without requiring prior coding knowledge. It is a useful choice for children, families, and educators looking for an approachable logic activity.
Its educational value should be kept in perspective: this is a beginner-friendly introduction, not a complete programming course. Experienced programmers will likely find the puzzles straightforward.

8. Basketball: a simple shot challenge
Basketball strips the sport down to its most recognizable action: adjust your shot and try to make as many baskets as possible. It requires little explanation and offers immediate score-based replay value.
The limited mechanics are also the trade-off. This is a quick mini-game, not a basketball simulation, and mouse, keyboard, and touch controls may feel different depending on the archived version and device.
Best for: a familiar, fast sports challenge with a low learning curve.
9. Soccer: defend the goal
Soccer takes a different approach from Basketball: you play as the goalkeeper, move into position, and try to block incoming shots.

The objective is instantly clear, and the focus on reaction timing makes it a good contrast to Cricket’s batting and Basketball’s shooting. Its simplicity means it may feel limited after several rounds, but that also makes it suitable for short sessions.
Best for: competitive players who prefer quick reactions over strategy or exploration.
10. Pony Express: collect mail and avoid obstacles
In Pony Express, guide a rider through a side-scrolling landscape, collect mail, and avoid obstacles. The format adds an endless-runner-like option to a list otherwise dominated by sports, puzzles, ghosts, and arcade mazes.
Repeated runs encourage you to learn the route, improve timing, and chase a higher score. As with other archived Doodles, current loading and gameplay behavior should not be assumed from the original launch alone.
Best for: players who enjoy collection games, obstacle avoidance, and improving a route through repetition.

How to find more Google Doodle games
Open Google’s Doodle archive and filter the collection by Interactive Game. The archive also supports date, topic, and sports-related browsing, making it easier to find games beyond this list.
If a game does not respond immediately, click or tap the game area, try a desktop browser, check whether the page has finished loading, and use its own restart or play control. A preserved archive page may not retain an old leaderboard, multiplayer service, or original homepage behavior.

Are Google Doodle games free?
Google-hosted Doodle games are presented as browser experiences and do not require buying the game itself. Availability, account requirements, advertisements, tracking behavior, and online features can vary by the current page, so do not assume every archived feature remains unchanged.
The Bottom Line
For the best first pick, play Pac-Man for classic arcade action or Doodle Champion Island Games for the largest experience. Use Google’s archive for the rest, keeping in mind that archived games—and especially multiplayer features—may not work exactly as they did when first published.
