For a practical Warzone PC performance baseline, use Fullscreen Exclusive, your monitor’s highest available refresh rate, gameplay V-Sync Off, native display resolution with 100 render resolution, and low or minimal graphics options where they reduce GPU load. On supported NVIDIA cards, try Reflex On + Boost. These are independent-guide recommendations, not settings prescribed by Activision, and they cannot guarantee a particular FPS increase. Change one setting at a time and judge it in a match on your own hardware.
Start with these 11 Warzone PC settings
Menu labels and availability can vary by game build. Use the closest matching option in your current client; this performance-first profile is based on an independent guide, not an official Activision preset. Setup.gg’s 2026 Warzone settings guide recommends the following starting points.
1. Display mode: Fullscreen Exclusive
Start with Fullscreen Exclusive as the performance-oriented option. Choose Borderless instead if switching quickly between the game and other windows matters more to you than the guide’s latency-oriented preference.
2. Refresh rate: highest available
Select the monitor’s highest available refresh rate in the game, then confirm Windows is set to the same maximum. A high-refresh display can show more frames only when the PC renders them; the monitor itself does not increase rendered FPS.

3. V-Sync: Off
Turn gameplay V-Sync off for this latency-oriented baseline. If you change it to address visual tearing, compare the result against your priorities for responsiveness and image stability.
4. Resolution and render resolution: native and 100%
Begin at your display’s native resolution and 100 render resolution for a clear, consistent image. If the GPU cannot sustain your target frame rate, test a quality upscaler or reduce resolution; either can reduce GPU workload at the cost of image sharpness or detail.

5. Frame-rate cap: tune to the display
Begin with a cap near the display’s refresh rate. With variable refresh rate, the guide suggests trying a cap three to five FPS below that rate. Treat this as a tuning starting point, not a universal optimum: compare frame delivery and responsiveness on your setup.
6. NVIDIA Reflex: On + Boost, if supported
On supported NVIDIA cards, try Reflex On + Boost. If Boost brings unwanted heat or clock noise, test On instead. This is hardware-specific and does not apply as a general setting for every GPU.

7. Dynamic resolution and upscaling: choose deliberately
Leave dynamic resolution off when consistent sharpness matters most. If the GPU cannot sustain your target, test a quality upscaler and compare clarity with performance. An Activision announcement from 2021 said DLSS and dynamic resolution were mutually exclusive in that Warzone-era implementation; that older detail should not be assumed to describe every current build. Activision/Blizzard’s 2021 DLSS announcement also claimed “up to 70%” higher frame rates for supported GeForce RTX hardware in its then-current game context. That historical promotional claim is not a current benchmark or an expected gain for your system.
8. VRAM and textures: leave headroom
The independent guide suggests a VRAM scale target of 70–80, Low textures on cards with limited video memory, and Normal textures at 8 GB or more. These are guide recommendations, not official minimums. Lower texture quality if the in-game VRAM meter fills or matches stutter; texture detail competes for limited VRAM capacity.

11. Texture streaming, water, and reflections: minimize extras
Set on-demand texture streaming to Minimal to limit background downloads that may contribute to hitching. Turn screen-space reflections off and set water quality to Off or Low.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Why these settings are a starting profile, not a guaranteed FPS boost
Actual performance depends on the GPU, CPU, resolution, map, and background applications. Lower shadows, effects, or resolution can reduce graphics work, while a high-refresh display only presents frames the PC has already rendered. Native resolution and 100 render resolution preserve the image baseline; lowering them or using an upscaler trades some sharpness for lower GPU demand. A lower texture setting trades surface detail for VRAM headroom.
Activision’s PC requirements page, updated March 11, 2026, describes its recommended specification tier as targeting 60 FPS in most situations with options set to High. Its separate competitive/Ultra 4K tier is intended for high FPS on a high-refresh monitor or high FPS at 4K. These are specification targets, not promises that a particular setting change will deliver a fixed frame rate. See Activision’s Warzone PC system requirements for the listed hardware and qualifications.
Check the PC setup before chasing graphics changes
Activision’s requirements page lists a minimum desktop tier of Windows 10 64-bit, Ryzen 5 1400 or Core i5-6600, 8 GB RAM, Radeon RX 470, GeForce GTX 970/1060, or Intel Arc A580, 3 GB video memory, and an SSD with 116 GB free at launch. Its recommended tier lists Windows 11, Ryzen 5 1600X or Core i7-6700K, 12 GB RAM, RX 6600 XT, RTX 3060, or Intel Arc B580, 8 GB video memory, and an SSD with 116 GB free. The competitive/Ultra 4K tier lists Ryzen 5 5600X or Core i7-10700K, 16 GB RAM, RX 9070 XT or RTX 4080/5070, 12 GB video memory, and an SSD. The page notes desktop requirements may differ for some laptop models, additional space may be required for mandatory updates, and Intel Arc GPUs require Resizable BAR. It also lists DirectX 12, broadband, supported Intel/AMD processors with AVX, TPM 2.0, and Secure Boot.
Quick Recap
Reduce stuttering with a controlled tuning process
- Finish shader preloading. After launching, stay in the main menu until shader preloading completes. Activision says leaving the menu stops preloading and can lead to performance problems.
- Update through the right official channel. Check Activision’s current troubleshooting page for driver guidance, or use the graphics vendor’s official download utility. Driver versions vary by vendor and card type, so a version copied from an older article may no longer be appropriate.
- Change one setting at a time. Record a baseline, adjust one option, then compare in a match under similar conditions. This makes it easier to identify which change affects frame delivery, clarity, or stutter.
- Watch VRAM and frame consistency. If the VRAM meter fills or matches hitch, lower textures and reassess. If the image becomes too soft after reducing resolution or enabling upscaling, restore the clearer setting and choose a less costly option elsewhere.
- Use Activision’s current troubleshooting page for persistent issues. Its Warzone PC guidance covers supported Windows versions, drivers, and shader preloading. Open Activision’s Warzone PC troubleshooting guide.
