Those details are claims about leaked playtest footage—not verified specifications for the released mode.
What the reported Battlefield 6 leak showed
According to Insider Gaming’s September 12, 2025 report, the leaked material consisted of two clips adding up to around 15 minutes and came from Battlefield Labs playtests.
- One clip reportedly featured a RHIB boat and a tank.
- The other reportedly showed a four-player squad jumping from a Chinook helicopter.
Insider Gaming’s report is the source for these descriptions; the footage was not independently authenticated here. A playtest leak also cannot establish whether a particular vehicle, sequence, or other detail remained unchanged in the released game.
How the leak relates to Battlefield REDSEC today
The report came before launch. EA released Battlefield REDSEC on October 28, 2025, as a free-to-play experience that does not require ownership of Battlefield 6. REDSEC includes Battle Royale, Gauntlet, and Portal, according to EA’s launch announcement and FAQ.

EA describes REDSEC’s setting as Fort Lyndon and specifies 100 players per Battle Royale match. Its official mode description highlights destructible environments, tactical destruction, loot, and vehicle combat. Those launch-era product details describe the released experience; they do not confirm that every element reported in the 2025 leak made it into the game.
Can you play Battlefield 6 battle royale?
Yes. EA says players can access Battle Royale through REDSEC without owning Battlefield 6. EA also says owners and non-owners can play together, with a shared Battle Pass and account progression connecting the experiences. Those live-service details may change, so consult EA’s REDSEC FAQ for current terms.

EA’s May 8, 2026 Season 3 roadmap announced Ranked Battle Royale beginning May 12, 2026. That announcement documents planned post-launch development; it is not confirmation of the mode’s exact live status on October 7, 2026.
