6 Best Free Palworld Server Hosting Providers in April 2026: Trials, VPS Options, and Free-Entry Plans

Most free Palworld server hosts are trials, credits, or money-back offers rather than permanent free 24/7 servers. Kamatera and VPSServer.com offer the clearest 30-day trials, IONOS documents a 30-day refund window, and the CPU, RAM, SSD, port, setup, and cancellation details still decide the outcome.

Short answer: the best “free” Palworld server hosts in April 2026 are mostly free-to-test services, not permanently free, managed 24/7 servers. Kamatera is the strongest configurable cloud trial, VPSServer.com is a good full-control VPS test, IONOS has the clearest 30-day money-back window, and DigitalOcean advertises the largest promotional new-account credit—but a payment method is required and billing resumes after the credit.

For a stable dedicated Palworld world, plan around four or more CPU cores, 16 GB of RAM, and fast SSD storage. A trial can prove whether a configuration works for your group, but it should not be mistaken for a guaranteed permanent free server.

If you would rather pay for a server that stays up all the time, our Palworld dedicated server hosting guide compares six paid hosts and explains how much RAM a Palworld server needs.

What “free” means here: an offer may be a time-limited trial, promotional cloud credit, money-back period, or—only where independently confirmed—a free tier. Some offers require a payment card and can convert to paid billing if you do not cancel on time.

Quick comparison: the six best free Palworld hosting candidates

This ranking is based on the type of free offer, documented control and setup options, and suitability for Palworld’s published server requirements. It is not a firsthand uptime, latency, lag, or save-corruption test. All six are primarily VPS or cloud-server choices rather than managed game panels; DigitalOcean stands out because its free window is a promotional new-account credit rather than a trial or refund period.

Rank Provider What “free” appears to mean Best for Important limitation
1 Kamatera 30-day cloud trial, up to $100 in configuration value Flexible self-managed Palworld VPS Requires a card; you install and maintain PalServer
2 VPSServer.com 30-day trial with up to $100 in service credits Users wanting root access and a realistic VPS test Requires a card and can become billable after the trial
3 Hostinger 30-day money-back period on a paid hosting plan Beginners who value a familiar control panel The cheapest plan may not meet Palworld’s resource needs
4 DigitalOcean Advertised promotional credit for eligible new accounts, commonly presented as $200 valid for 60 days Technical users who want the largest promotional credit window Payment method required; billing continues after the credit unless droplets are destroyed
5 Ultahost Trial or 30-day money-back-style offer Users wanting VPS controls, backups, and support Manual PalServer setup may still be necessary
6 IONOS Officially documented 30-day VPS trial or money-back guarantee Users choosing between Linux and Windows VPS hosting You may pay first and claim a refund rather than receive a zero-cost server

Five of the six providers appear in the comparison source, which contains inconsistent price labels, including $0 monthly figures alongside trial and refund language; DigitalOcean is included separately for its own advertised new-account credit. Treat the table as a shortlist of offers to investigate, not proof that all six provide permanent free Palworld hosting. Confirm the current checkout terms before deploying a world.

1. Kamatera: best overall configurable cloud trial

Kamatera is the clearest choice if you are comfortable administering a server and want to choose the CPU, memory, storage, and data-center region yourself. Its official trial terms describe one cloud server for 30 days, with a configuration valued up to $100 and 1 TB of included traffic. A valid credit card is required. You must terminate the server before the trial ends; otherwise, usage after the trial can be billed.

For readers who want to test a properly sized machine rather than squeeze Palworld onto the smallest possible plan, the Kamatera free cloud trial is the most flexible starting point in this comparison. The service provides root-level administration and a straightforward path to resize or upgrade if the initial configuration is too small.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

The comparison shortlist also attributes SSD storage, multiple data-center locations, firewall and DDoS protection, pay-as-you-go billing, and a 99.95% uptime promise to Kamatera. Those are provider or comparison-page claims, not results measured for a Palworld server in this article.

Why choose it

  • You can allocate resources closer to Palworld’s recommended four-plus cores and 16 GB of RAM.
  • You retain full control over the operating system, SteamCMD, PalServer updates, firewall, and configuration files.
  • The trial is useful for testing real player load before committing to a paid server.

What to watch

Kamatera is a general-purpose cloud server, not a one-click managed Palworld host. You are responsible for installing the official dedicated-server software, opening UDP port 8211, applying updates, monitoring memory, and preserving backups. Cancel the server—not merely a browser tab or unused configuration—before the trial deadline, and retain the cancellation confirmation.

2. VPSServer.com: best full-control 30-day VPS test

VPSServer.com’s official materials document a 30-day free trial with up to $100 in service credits. The sign-up information describes one cloud server, 1 TB of cloud storage, 1 TB of internet traffic, full feature access, scaling within the credit limit, 24/7 support, and access to global data-center locations. Its virtual-machine information also describes root access, dedicated CPU and RAM, NVMe SSD storage, and more than 20 locations.

That makes the VPSServer.com free VPS trial a credible Palworld test environment for someone who understands Linux or Windows administration. The provider specifically presents game-server operators as a VPS use case because game servers benefit from resource control and low-latency placement.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

The main distinction from a managed game host is that VPSServer.com gives you a virtual machine, not a Palworld control panel that does everything for you. You still install PalServer, configure the firewall, manage updates, and troubleshoot crashes. A valid payment card is required for the promotion, and billing can begin if you fail to cancel under the stated terms.

TP-Link AX1800 WiFi 6 Router (Archer AX21 V5)
  • DUAL-BAND WIFI 6 ROUTER: Wi-Fi 6(802.11ax) technology achieves faster speeds, greater capacity and reduced network congestion compared to the previous gen. All WiFi routers require a separate modem. Dual-Band WiFi routers do not support the 6 GHz band.
  • AX1800: Enjoy smoother and more stable streaming, gaming, downloading with 1.8 Gbps total bandwidth (up to 1200 Mbps on 5 GHz and up to 574 Mbps on 2.4 GHz). Performance varies by conditions, distance to devices, and obstacles such as walls.
  • CONNECT MORE DEVICES: Wi-Fi 6 technology communicates more data to more devices simultaneously using revolutionary OFDMA technology
  • EXTENSIVE COVERAGE: Achieve the strong, reliable WiFi coverage with Archer AX1800 as it focuses signal strength to your devices far away using Beamforming technology, 4 high-gain antennas and an advanced front-end module (FEM) chipset
  • OUR CYBERSECURITY COMMITMENT: TP-Link is a signatory of the U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency’s (CISA) Secure-by-Design pledge. This device is designed, built, and maintained, with advanced security as a core requirement.

3. Hostinger: best beginner-oriented budget trial candidate

Hostinger is worth considering if you want a familiar control panel and an easy paid upgrade path after testing. The comparison shortlist describes SSD storage, root access, DDoS protection, backups, SSL, an easy control panel, scalable resources, and a 99.9% uptime target. It also lists a 30-day money-back period.

That is a refund-window candidate, not verified permanent free Palworld hosting. You generally need to select and pay for a plan first, then follow the provider’s refund terms if it does not suit your group. More importantly, do not choose the cheapest VPS simply because it is the least expensive way to start.

Palworld’s official dedicated-server guidance recommends four or more CPU cores, 16 GB of memory, and fast SSD storage. An entry-level Hostinger plan may fall short of that target. Check the actual CPU allocation, RAM, storage type, traffic policy, operating system, and refund exclusions on the plan you are about to purchase.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Best use case

Hostinger makes the most sense for a beginner who wants conventional hosting tools and intends to move to a paid server if the trial period works. It is less suitable if you want a genuinely zero-cost experiment with no payment upfront or if you need a managed Palworld-specific panel.

4. DigitalOcean: largest promotional credit window

DigitalOcean is the promotional-credit candidate in this list, and the only one not drawn from the comparison source—it is included separately for its own advertised new-account credit. For eligible new accounts, the credit is commonly presented as $200 valid for 60 days, and while it lasts it is enough to run a droplet near Palworld’s recommended four CPU cores and 16 GB of RAM.

DigitalOcean is a self-managed cloud provider, not a game panel. You deploy an operating system, install PalServer via SteamCMD, open UDP port 8211, and manage updates and backups yourself. Community marketplace images that pre-install a Palworld server exist, but verify their bundled Palworld version before trusting them with a persistent world.

Who should try it

  • Technically comfortable users who want the largest promotional testing allowance in this comparison.
  • Groups that want to trial a full-size four-core, 16 GB configuration instead of a minimal free plan.
  • Readers already planning a paid droplet who want a funded evaluation period first.

Why caution is especially important

A payment method is required at sign-up, and billing continues after the credit is exhausted or expires unless droplets are destroyed—powering off is not enough, because a stopped droplet still bills for its reserved resources. Confirm the credit’s eligibility, amount, and validity window on the current sign-up page, and destroy any droplet you do not intend to pay for.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

5. Ultahost: best security-and-support trial candidate

Ultahost is presented by the comparison source as a trial-based VPS option with SSD storage, flexible configurations, root access, DDoS protection, free SSL, backups, one-click installs, a control panel, 24/7 support, and a 99.9% uptime target. The same source lists a 30-day money-back period.

Those features make Ultahost a reasonable candidate if you want conventional VPS administration with more built-in support and security features than a bare virtual machine. They do not establish that Ultahost provides a permanent free Palworld server, and they are not independent measurements of Palworld latency, uptime, or save stability.

Expect to confirm the operating system and install method yourself unless the current plan explicitly includes a Palworld image or managed setup. Before paying, verify that the selected configuration reaches at least four CPU cores and 16 GB of RAM if you want to follow Palworld’s recommended dedicated-server specification.

6. IONOS: best-documented VPS money-back window

IONOS officially advertises a 30-day VPS trial or money-back guarantee. Its VPS page says customers can test a Linux or Windows VPS for one month and receive their money back if dissatisfied. That is clearer documentation than the ambiguous “free” labels attached to several other entries, although it may still mean paying first and requesting a refund rather than receiving a server with no initial charge.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

If you prefer a Windows or Linux virtual machine with conventional support, the IONOS VPS trial is the clearest refund-window choice in the list. You get the flexibility to install and maintain the official Palworld server yourself while keeping the option to test the environment for a month.

The comparison page additionally lists root access, SSD storage, DDoS protection, backups, flexible pricing, and a 99.99% uptime target. Treat those as listed provider or comparison-page claims rather than a guarantee of Palworld performance. IONOS remains self-managed: selecting Windows or Linux does not install, update, or configure PalServer for you.

What Palworld actually needs from a server

The official Palworld dedicated-server documentation is more useful than a provider’s generic “game hosting” label. Use these requirements when comparing a free trial:

Resource or setting Practical interpretation
CPU Four or more CPU cores are recommended. Look for actual allocated cores rather than relying only on a provider’s marketing tier.
Memory 16 GB is recommended. The server can boot with 8 GB, but the official guidance warns that this increases the possibility of out-of-memory crashes.
Storage Fast SSD storage is recommended. Storage speed matters for world loading, saves, updates, and general responsiveness.
Operating system Windows 64-bit and Linux 64-bit are supported for the dedicated-server environment.
Network port UDP port 8211 is the default PalServer port. It must be allowed in the operating-system firewall and, where relevant, the provider firewall and home router.
Player setting The official server arguments include -players=32 by default. This is a configuration limit, not a promise that a trial’s CPU, RAM, network, or storage can support 32 concurrent players.

For a small private world, the required capacity depends on the number of simultaneous players, world activity, configuration, and any additional server software. Start with the recommended 16 GB target rather than treating the 8 GB boot figure as a performance recommendation.

VPS or managed game host: which model is right for you?

Choose a self-managed VPS if… Choose managed game hosting if…
You can use SSH, RDP, or a Linux/Windows command line. You want a browser control panel and guided setup.
You need to choose the region, operating system, CPU, RAM, and storage. You prefer the host to handle more of the installation and routine controls.
You want root access and the ability to run other services. You are hosting a small private group and value simplicity over flexibility.
You are willing to handle updates, firewall rules, backups, and recovery. You accept that free tiers may restrict slots, support, resources, or uptime.

Kamatera, VPSServer.com, Hostinger, DigitalOcean, Ultahost, and IONOS all belong primarily in the first column; none of the six is a managed game panel. The easiest-looking option is not automatically the best value if its plan has too little memory for your world.

How to deploy Palworld on a free-to-test VPS

These steps apply to a self-managed Windows or Linux VPS. Provider dashboards differ, so the exact button names for creating a server, assigning a public IP, and editing a cloud firewall will vary.

  1. Create the right machine. Choose a 64-bit Windows or Linux image, at least four CPU cores, 16 GB of RAM, and fast SSD storage. Select a data center reasonably close to the players.
  2. Install SteamCMD. Use the provider’s operating-system instructions and install it in a directory with enough free space for the server and its updates.
  3. Download the official dedicated server. SteamCMD uses Palworld’s application ID 2394010. The anonymous installation command is:
    steamcmd +login anonymous +app_update 2394010 validate +quit
  4. Start the server. From the installation directory, launch PalServer.exe on Windows or ./PalServer.sh on Linux. Keep the process running through a service manager or scheduled startup if you want the world to return after a reboot.
  5. Allow network traffic. Permit inbound UDP 8211 in the operating-system firewall and the hosting provider’s network firewall. For a computer at home, also forward UDP 8211 from the router to the server machine.
  6. Connect and test. Use the server’s public IP address and port, then have more than one player join. Test during the busiest realistic session rather than assuming that a successful solo connection proves the server is adequately sized.
  7. Configure visibility if needed. Palworld’s official server arguments include -publiclobby for community-server configuration and -players=32 for the participant setting. Add arguments only after confirming the syntax for the current server build.

SteamCMD commands and launch behavior can change with Palworld updates. Use the current official Palworld deployment documentation alongside these general steps, especially when choosing between Steam, SteamCMD, Windows, and Linux installation methods.

Trial checklist: avoid a surprise bill or unusable server

  1. Classify the offer. Write down whether it is a free tier, promotional credit, free trial, or money-back guarantee. These are not interchangeable.
  2. Check payment requirements. Kamatera and VPSServer.com explicitly require a valid card for their documented trial promotions. Other providers may also authorize or charge the payment method before a refund window begins.
  3. Record the deadline. Note the exact date and time when the trial, credit, or refund period ends. Set a reminder several days early.
  4. Confirm what must be canceled. Determine whether you must delete the server, cancel the VPS subscription, or submit a refund request. Save the confirmation email or ticket.
  5. Compare real resources. Check allocated CPU cores, RAM, SSD type, traffic limits, public IPv4 availability, and operating-system choices—not only the monthly headline price.
  6. Verify the Palworld setup. A generic VPS may require SteamCMD, firewall configuration, updates, and backups. A game-hosting plan may impose player, storage, or control-panel restrictions.
  7. Test the world before inviting everyone. Confirm that several players can join, the server remains responsive, saves persist after a restart, and the region is acceptable.
  8. Export what you need before cancellation. If the trial is not suitable, preserve any world data and configuration that the provider allows you to download before deleting the machine.

Free alternatives that are not among the six providers

Self-hosting on your own computer

If you already own a capable Windows or Linux computer, running the official dedicated server locally can eliminate the hosting fee. It is not effortless: the machine must remain available, you need enough CPU, RAM, SSD capacity, and network bandwidth, and you may need firewall and router configuration. Power interruptions, changing home IP addresses, upload limits, and household network congestion also become your responsibility.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Playit.gg for avoiding router port forwarding

Playit.gg is a networking and tunneling tool, not a hosted Palworld server. Its official site lists Palworld under its free tier and describes an agent that runs on your own computer and makes the local server reachable remotely without traditional port forwarding. You still supply the computer, game-server process, storage, uptime, and resources. It can be useful for self-hosting behind a difficult router, but it does not turn an underpowered PC into a cloud server.

AWS Marketplace trials

AWS Marketplace illustrates why “free trial” needs careful wording. A Palworld server listing may include a five-day vendor trial, while AWS infrastructure usage charges can still apply. The subscription can also convert to paid service unless canceled. This is a possible test route for experienced AWS users, but it is not necessarily a zero-cost server.

Common failure modes and fixes

Players cannot connect

  • Confirm that the server process is running and listening on UDP 8211.
  • Open the port in both the operating-system firewall and the provider’s cloud firewall.
  • If the server is at home, check router forwarding and whether the internet connection uses carrier-grade NAT.
  • Give players the public IP, not a private address such as 192.168.x.x.
  • Check whether the provider assigned a public IPv4 address and whether its network policy permits inbound traffic.

The server crashes or runs out of memory

An 8 GB machine may boot but is more vulnerable to out-of-memory crashes according to Palworld’s official guidance. Move toward the recommended 16 GB configuration before blaming the host. Also check whether the trial plan is sharing or restricting CPU resources, whether storage is full, and whether the server build is current.

The server feels laggy

Latency depends heavily on the data-center region and each player’s route to it. CPU contention, insufficient memory, storage pressure, network congestion, and too many simultaneous players can all contribute. No provider in this comparison has been independently tested here, so do not treat advertised uptime percentages as a Palworld latency or gameplay guarantee.

What’s actually slowing this PC down?

Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Windows reports storage, driver, or update problems

Start with Windows Task Manager, Event Viewer, disk checks, Windows Update, provider monitoring, and the host’s support channel. A Windows troubleshooting utility such as Outbyte PC Repair may scan for storage, performance, connectivity, driver, update, and system issues, but it cannot add RAM, correct provider congestion, or fix high network latency. It is optional and peripheral to the hosting decision.

What is not included in the ranking

None of these services should be presented as endorsed by Pocketpair, and this article does not claim firsthand testing of uptime, latency, lag, or save stability. A cloud livestreaming service such as StreamNeo is also a separate product category: it is designed for continuous cloud streaming of recorded video to YouTube, not for hosting a Palworld game world.

Likewise, a Palworld guide book may help with gameplay questions, but catalog evidence for a 2026 guide does not independently confirm a current United States Amazon listing, edition, format, price, availability, or editorial quality. It is unrelated to the technical requirements of running a dedicated server.

Our verdict

Choose Kamatera if you want the most flexible documented cloud trial and are comfortable managing PalServer. Choose VPSServer.com if you want a similarly hands-on 30-day VPS test with root access, dedicated resource descriptions, and multiple locations. Choose IONOS if a clearly documented one-month refund window and Linux/Windows choice matter most.

Hostinger and Ultahost are sensible budget trial candidates when you already expect to pay for a suitable VPS, but verify the selected plan’s CPU and RAM. DigitalOcean offers the largest advertised promotional credit window, but a payment method is required and billing continues after the credit unless droplets are destroyed—verify the current credit terms before entering payment details.

For a long-term shared world, use the trial to test connection quality and stability, then budget for a paid plan that meets the 16 GB recommended memory target. That is the more reliable interpretation of “free Palworld server hosting” in April 2026.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is free Palworld server hosting really free?

Usually, “free” means a trial, promotional credit, or money-back period rather than a permanent 24/7 server. Some providers require a payment card, and billing may begin when the trial or credit ends unless you cancel according to the provider’s terms.

Can a free Palworld server host 32 players?

Not automatically. Palworld supports a -players=32 server setting, but the actual number of stable concurrent players depends on the host’s CPU, RAM, storage, network capacity, and the world’s activity. A small trial plan may support far fewer players.

Free tools Windows power users keep installed

Should I use a VPS or managed Palworld hosting?

Use a VPS such as Kamatera, VPSServer.com, or IONOS if you can manage an operating system, SteamCMD, firewall rules, updates, and backups. DigitalOcean fits the same self-managed model with a promotional new-account credit attached; no candidate in this shortlist is a managed game panel, so expect to administer the server yourself whichever option you pick.

Can I host Palworld for free from home?

Yes, if you already have a capable Windows or Linux computer. You must keep it online, meet Palworld’s CPU, memory, SSD, and network needs, configure firewalls and possibly router forwarding, and handle maintenance yourself. Playit.gg can help expose a self-hosted server without traditional port forwarding, but it does not provide the computer or the game server.

The Bottom Line

Bottom line: there is no reliable evidence that all six entries are permanently free. Kamatera and VPSServer.com are the strongest technical trials, IONOS has the clearest documented refund window, Hostinger and Ultahost are budget candidates, and DigitalOcean brings the largest advertised promotional credit window but needs deliberate droplet cleanup once the test ends. For dependable long-term play, test first and budget for at least the official 16 GB recommended memory target.
