The page also advertised a 72-hour self-serve refund. These are provider-presented prices and claims, not independent performance measurements.
Choose Shockbyte if: you want simple monthly RAM tiers, Java and Bedrock support, or an affordable starting point. Look elsewhere if: you need unusually transparent high-end CPU specifications or are running a demanding public modpack where hardware details matter more than a low entry price.
2. BisectHosting: best for modpacks
BisectHosting is the clearest pick for players who already know they want Forge, Fabric, CurseForge, FTB, Technic, or another prebuilt modpack. Current comparison coverage repeatedly highlights its automated modpack installation and broad modded-server support.
One-click installation removes much of the file-copying work, but it does not solve every modpack problem. You still need the correct Minecraft version, loader, Java runtime, dependencies, client/server mod parity, and enough CPU and memory for the pack. Check the exact pack and plan at purchase because catalogs, regions, and prices change.

3. Apex Hosting: best for beginners
Apex Hosting is aimed at owners who would rather pay for a guided setup than manage every technical detail themselves. Its documented and reported strengths include tutorials, one-click server and modpack installation, automated backups, support, and server-transfer assistance.
A secondary review reported a 2GB plan at $5.99 for the first month and $7.99 on renewal, but that figure was not verified against live August 2026 checkout pricing. Treat it as historical context, not a current quote.

Apex is usually a better fit for a first server than for a buyer comparing RAM per dollar. “Unlimited storage” or “unlimited slots,” where advertised, should not be read as unlimited technical capacity. Your world, plugins, mods, and CPU workload still determine what the server can handle.

Choose Apex if: documentation, support, and migration help are worth paying for. Look elsewhere if: renewal price is your overriding concern.
4. Nodecraft: best control panel and trial experience
Nodecraft stands apart through its Lite and Pro plans. Lite plans are designed to hibernate when unused, while Pro plans are advertised as always online with a static IP and automated tasks. That makes the distinction important: Lite can suit occasional friends-only play, but not a public server expected to remain available.
Pricing checked August 16, 2026
- Lite 2GB: $4.17 first month, then $5.96/month.
- Lite 4GB: $8.34 first month, then $11.92/month.
- Lite 8GB: $16.69 first month, then $23.84/month.
- Pro 2GB: $6.99 first month, then $9.98/month.
- Pro 4GB: $13.99 first month, then $19.98/month.
- Pro 8GB: $27.99 first month, then $39.98/month.
Nodecraft advertises a 24-hour trial without a credit card and a longer trial requiring payment details, subject to eligibility and availability. It also promotes cloud backups, scheduled tasks, and the ability to switch among games, server instances, and modpacks.
Choose Nodecraft if: you value trying the service first, a flexible panel, or hosting several games. Look elsewhere if: you need a permanently online, high-memory modpack at the lowest renewal price.
5. ScalaCube: best for multi-game hosting
ScalaCube makes the most sense when Minecraft is only one part of your hosting needs. It is marketed around multiple games and multiple servers under one account, making it useful for families or communities that want several smaller game instances.
Its low advertised entry prices can be attractive, but compare the renewal rate and the cost of larger plans. Also verify the exact modpack, edition, location, backup policy, support channel, and dedicated-IP options before ordering. A secondary review raised concerns about support breadth compared with premium competitors.

Choose ScalaCube if: multi-game or multi-server flexibility matters more than specialist Minecraft value. Look elsewhere if: you need the strongest modpack-specific support or the best high-memory pricing.
6. Hostinger: best for advanced users who want VPS flexibility
Hostinger is not a direct equivalent to a managed Minecraft panel. Its appeal is VPS-style control and the ability to run related services such as a website, database, map renderer, proxy, or Discord bot alongside the game server.
That flexibility comes with responsibility. Depending on the product, you may need to install and secure the server, manage updates, configure backups, troubleshoot Java, and protect other services on the VPS. Raw RAM-per-dollar is therefore not an apples-to-apples comparison with managed hosts.
Choose Hostinger if: you are comfortable administering Linux or want broader infrastructure. Look elsewhere if: you expect one-click modpack setup and Minecraft-specific support as a beginner.
How to choose the right plan
Start with the software, not the player-slot number
Decide whether you need Vanilla Java, Paper/Purpur/Spigot plugins, Forge/Fabric/NeoForge mods, Bedrock Dedicated Server, Java–Bedrock crossplay, or a proxy network using Velocity or BungeeCord. Also account for databases, websites, map renderers, voice chat, and bots.
Confirm support for the exact Minecraft version, server loader, custom JAR uploads, configuration access, automatic version changes, and backups before upgrading.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsUse RAM as a starting point
| Server type | Sensible starting point |
|---|---|
| 2–5 players, vanilla | 2GB |
| 5–10 players, vanilla or Paper | 3–4GB |
| 10–20 players with plugins or a larger world | 4–8GB |
| Lightly modded | 6–8GB |
| Large modpack or 15–30 active players | 8–12GB or more |
| Large public community | Profile and scale based on real usage |
These are starting ranges, not player guarantees. Minecraft’s main server tick is highly sensitive to CPU performance and single-thread behavior. More RAM will not automatically fix low TPS caused by entities, redstone, chunk generation, view distance, simulation distance, plugins, or mod interactions.

- Enjoy expansive cinematic sound. Big 50 mm audio drivers deliver an incredible sound experience
- Hear Enemies From All Sides. DTS Headphone:X 2.0 surround sound(1) lets you hear enemies sneaking behind you, special ability cues, and immersive environments. It’s positional clarity that can make the difference between victory and defeat. Experience three-dimensional audio that goes beyond 7.1 channels to make you feel like you’re right in the middle of the action. (1) DTS Headphone:X 2.0 requires Logitech G HUB Software.
- Be Heard Loud and Clear. The big 6 mm boom mic makes sure you’re heard by gaming partners and mutes when flipped up.
- Use One Headset For Most Game Platforms. Your headphones work with your PC or Mac via USB DAC or 3.5 mm cable, mobile devices with 3.5 mm cable or with gaming consoles including PlayStationⓇ 5 and PlayStationⓇ 4 (USB wireless stereo sound only), Nintendo Switch (wireless stereo sound when docked)
- Game for Hours in Comfort. Everything about these headphones is about comfort: The deluxe lightweight leatherette ear cups and headband are made to keep pressure off your ears. Ear cups rotate up to 90 degrees for convenience.
Compare CPU, storage, and location
Ask what CPU family and generation the node uses, whether CPU resources are shared, what priority or limits apply, and whether storage is NVMe SSD, SSD, or unspecified. Choose the data center closest to most players; a cheaper host in the wrong region can deliver worse latency than a costlier nearby host. Some providers reveal the precise location only during checkout.
Check backups and portability
“Backups included” is incomplete information. Verify frequency, retention, storage location, restoration steps, whether backups consume your server storage, and whether you can download them. Keep an independent local copy.
Prefer hosts that provide full file access, SFTP or an equivalent, world downloads, import tools, and clear cancellation and data-retention rules. A portable world is more valuable than a free subdomain if your community lasts for years.

Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Java, Bedrock, and crossplay
Java Edition and Bedrock Edition are different server ecosystems. A provider advertising Java hosting does not automatically provide native Bedrock hosting.
For Bedrock players on Windows, consoles, phones, or tablets, confirm support for Bedrock Dedicated Server, the current Bedrock build, add-ons, behavior packs, ports, DNS, and whether the server remains online. Shockbyte and Nodecraft explicitly advertise Bedrock hosting.
Java–Bedrock crossplay commonly uses Geyser and Floodgate. This is not identical to native Bedrock hosting and can involve differences in mechanics, commands, redstone behavior, skins, add-ons, or authentication. Verify whether the host offers one-click installation and supports the required plugins.

Managed hosting versus a VPS
A managed Minecraft host generally provides a game-focused panel, installers, console access, backups, and support familiar with common server types. A VPS gives you broader control but typically makes you responsible for installation, security, patching, monitoring, and recovery.
Choose managed hosting for a first server, a small friend group, or a modpack where convenience matters. Choose a VPS only when you are comfortable administering it or need additional web and infrastructure services.
Common problems and fixes
“The server has enough RAM but still lags”
Check TPS and tick time, CPU contention, node priority, data-center distance, chunk generation, entities, redstone, plugins, and mods. Reduce view and simulation distance, pre-generate chunks, profile the workload, and increase RAM only after checking CPU and software causes.
“The modpack will not start”
Confirm the exact Minecraft, Forge/Fabric/NeoForge, and Java versions. Check client/server mod parity, dependencies, startup flags, permissions, the import method, logs, and crash reports.
The Tool Desk
Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Outbyte PC Repair FREEClear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →“My plan says unlimited slots”
Unlimited slots usually means there is no contractual hard slot number. It does not mean unlimited concurrent players at acceptable TPS. Capacity is limited by CPU, RAM, network conditions, simulation distance, software, and world activity.
“The world was corrupted or lost”
Stop making changes, preserve the current files, and restore a known-good backup. Download backups regularly so recovery does not depend entirely on the provider. Before migrating, stop the old server cleanly, download the world and configuration, install the same server type on the new host, upload the world, mods, configs, and scripts, then test privately before changing the public address.
“The server sleeps when nobody is playing”
Check whether the plan hibernates. Nodecraft’s Lite plans are designed to do so, while Pro plans are advertised as always online. Hibernation can save money for occasional play but is unsuitable for a public server or automated bot.
Alternatives worth considering
- Minecraft Realms: the easiest option for a small group, but less flexible for plugins, large modpacks, and server administration.
- Aternos or Minehut: useful for free experimentation, but may include queues, sleep behavior, advertisements, resource limits, or reduced control.
- Self-hosting: avoids a monthly hosting bill if you already have suitable hardware and reliable internet, but requires port forwarding, security, backups, and uptime management.
- General VPS providers: offer more control but require more administration.
- Dedicated game-server providers: can suit large communities but usually cost more.
Final buying decision
- Want simple and affordable? Choose Shockbyte.
- Running a substantial modpack? Start with BisectHosting.
- New to server administration? Consider Apex Hosting.
- Want to try before paying or switch among games? Choose Nodecraft.
- Need several game servers under one account? Consider ScalaCube.
- Want VPS control and related web services? Choose Hostinger.
Whichever host you choose, select the nearest practical region, compare renewal pricing, confirm the exact edition and software support, and keep your own downloadable backup.
