Armor, characters, and animations
A new armor system replaced the earlier clothing and armor systems. The diary describes themed armor sets, pieces that can be mixed and matched, and bonuses for wearing a complete set. Character models and customization were redesigned, animations were revised, and first-person hands reflect the equipment the character is wearing.
Zombies and wildlife
Zombies received visual variants using alternate textures. The diary also lists new animal art for the stag, cougar, bear, pig or boar, coyote, wolf, rabbit, and Grace, the mutated boar. These are visual updates as described by the diary, not evidence of new behavior or gameplay abilities.

Visual presentation and performance work
The listed presentation changes include refreshed props, campsite tents, and road decals; new blood, gore, and shadow effects; and window tinting intended to make interiors less visible at a distance. The update also moved the game to Unity 2022 LTS and included lighting and object-spawning performance work. The diary does not provide benchmark figures for these changes.

The Version 1.0 developer diary said the update “will be the same game on PC and console, with the same features & content.” That was an announcement-era statement about Version 1.0, not confirmation that later builds on every platform remain identical.

Are these the complete 7 Days to Die 1.0 patch notes?
No. The developer diary provides a feature-level summary of major systems and content, not an exhaustive changelog. The official release-notes page linked from Steam was not accessible in the material available for this article, so individual fixes and balance adjustments cannot be reliably itemized here. Treat the sections above as a summary of confirmed headline changes rather than the complete patch list.
