On PC, open the in-game command console with F1, enter a command, and press Enter. Start with help to see commands supported by your installed build, or help giveself (or another command name) to check its syntax. “Console commands” here means the PC command window—not commands guaranteed to work on an Xbox or PlayStation version.
How to open the command console on PC
- Load into a game.
- Press F1 to open the in-game command console, then type
helpand press Enter. - For one command’s syntax, enter
help <command>, replacing<command>with its name—for example,help giveself.
If F1 does not open the console, check the in-game controls or help: the alternate console binding can vary with keyboard layout. The current command guide describes command names as case-sensitive and arguments as positional. In its syntax, angle brackets denote required arguments and square brackets optional ones; use the help output from your own build, especially on a modded or experimental version.
Quick-start cheats and commands
These are useful starting points, not a complete command list. Confirm the exact form with in-game help before using a command; aliases and syntax can vary by build.
| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
cm or creativemenu |
Toggles the Creative Menu, which provides access to item spawning. |
dm or debugmenu |
Toggles Debug Mode; the current guide describes it as providing god mode and flight. |
giveself <itemName> |
Gives your character an item. Optional arguments can cover quality, count, inventory placement, and spawned mods; check help giveself for the installed build’s syntax. |
giveselfxp <number> |
Gives your character experience. |
settime day or settime night |
Sets the in-game time to day or night. |
settime <day> <hour> <minute> |
Sets a specified in-game day and time; verify argument order and accepted values with help settime. |
teleport |
Can move you by coordinates, to a player, or by an offset. The accepted forms and permissions depend on context; use help teleport. |
spawnentity or spawnentityat |
Spawns entities using target and location arguments. Consult in-game help for the required arguments. |
saveworld or sa |
Manually saves the world. |
Giving yourself items
Use giveself with an item name, then check help giveself for the optional arguments available in your version. Older Alpha-era instructions often show numeric item IDs; the current guide checked for this article says the current command takes item names instead. If an item name from an old list does not work, use the installed build’s help rather than assuming the legacy ID syntax still applies.

PC commands versus Xbox and PlayStation
The word “console” is ambiguous: PC players may mean the F1 command window, while Xbox and PlayStation players may mean the platform. Do not assume the PC F1 commands or cheat behavior carry over to console editions. The current command guide discusses Xbox and PS5 specifically in terms of the PC command console; available wiki search results describe console editions as lacking PC-style cheats apart from Creative Menu access, but do not establish a complete, version-specific command reference for those platforms. Check the settings and documentation for your edition before relying on a particular cheat.
Dedicated-server commands and permissions
Dedicated servers use the shared command set, but permissions determine who may run commands and whether their effects are limited to their character or affect other players or the server. Commands may be entered through the in-game F1 console, telnet, or a server panel console, depending on the server setup.

- A must-have for collectors and fans of Open-World Survival Horror, the 7 Days to Die – Console Edition Survival Bundle includes the following: An exclusive Artbook with over 100 pages showcasing never-before-seen illustrations of the zombie apocalypse, a CD featuring the haunting Original Soundtrack (OST) of the game, a double-sided poster, Fine art prints x3, Sticker sheets x 3, the physical game, and a collectible tuck-in box housing all the contents.
The current guide describes permission level 0 as maximum permission and 1000 as the default for users without an explicit entry. Paying for hosting does not automatically make a player an admin; the server must grant the appropriate permissions.
| Command | Administrative use |
|---|---|
admin |
Sets or manages user permission levels. |
commandpermission or cp |
Restricts command access by permission level. |
whitelist, ban, kick |
Manages who may join or remain on the server. |
say |
Sends a server message. |
listplayers or lp |
Lists players. |
saveworld or sa, shutdown |
Saves the world or shuts down the server. |
Grant only the permission a person needs, and run help <command> on the server’s installed build to confirm syntax and requirements. Telnet and web-dashboard access are configured for the server; availability depends on its configuration. Treat remote administration as a security-sensitive setup and follow current server documentation rather than copying settings from an older guide.

Why older command guides may not work
Commands, aliases, settings, and server configuration can change between versions. The cited command guide says its list was checked against stable V3.2.0 on August 26, 2026 and updated on September 28, 2026. It also reports that the V3.1.0 and V3.2.0 release notes did not list command changes relative to the V3.0 command registry; that is the guide’s version-specific account, not a claim that every future or modded build is identical. The guide identifies in-game help as the authority for a specific installation.
Server owners should be especially wary of older configuration advice. The guide says V3.0 moved thirty gameplay settings from serverconfig.xml into a SandboxCode setting created through the in-game Sandbox Options menu. It also identifies getsandboxoptions (alias gso) as a way to show loaded options and warns that setting properties removed from the current configuration has no effect. Check the version running on your server and its current help before applying old instructions.
