When were Age of Water and Outbreak available?
Xbox Wire’s announcement set the event to run from Thursday, August 29, 2024, at 12:01 a.m. PDT through Sunday, September 1, 2024, at 11:59 p.m. PDT. Those dates are the period covered by the announcement; it does not establish that either game is free to play now.
Which games were included?
Age of Water
Age of Water is an online nautical action-adventure set in a post-apocalyptic world covered by water. Its Xbox description highlights sailing, combat, trading, capturing boats, building a vessel, and collecting resources from the ocean floor. It also mentions story quests and optional PvP.
Outbreak
Outbreak is a top-down survival horror game. The Xbox description lists a story campaign, Onslaught mode, Nightmares vignettes, limited supplies, and split-screen co-op.

Who could play, and where were the games listed?
During the event, players needed an Xbox Game Pass Core or Xbox Game Pass Ultimate membership. Xbox Wire directed players to the games’ Xbox.com details pages to install them. On Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, players could also look in the Xbox Store’s Subscriptions tab under the Free Play Days collection.
Could players keep playing after the event?
Xbox Wire said players could purchase a game to continue playing and keep Gamerscore and achievements earned during the event. The announcement does not establish current prices, regional availability, or whether event save files carry over. Check the current Xbox Store listing for present purchase details.
