In 7 Days to Die, the item “codes” used by the PC console are internal item names, not necessarily numeric IDs. For a local player, the V3.2 reference documents giveself; server admins use give to target another player. The available names and syntax depend on the game build and mods, so treat any reference list as version-specific.
What “item codes” mean in 7 Days to Die
Players often say “item IDs” or “item codes,” but the cited V3.2 reference identifies items by internal names drawn from the game’s items.xml and Localization.csv. For example, the displayed Sniper Rifle corresponds to the internal name gunRifleT3SniperRifle. The name you enter in a command may therefore differ from the item’s visible label.

The 7d2d.net reference lists 946 entries read from a V3.2.0 (b9) dedicated server’s game data. Its page says it queried a running server on 12 September 2026. That is the size and provenance of that particular list—not a guaranteed total for other builds, platforms, or modded games. See the V3.2 item reference.

Search a version-matched list that shows both the displayed item name and its internal name. The 7d2d.net V3.2 list is one such reference.
-
If you are on a server, use its own item listing or help output where available. The reference specifies that the admin
givecommand requires the exact name returned bylistitems. -
If a name is rejected, check its spelling and capitalization, confirm that the list matches the server build, and account for mods that add or alter items and commands.
Use an item name on PC
The PC reference says to open the in-game console with F1; some keyboard layouts may use another key. Console access and permissions can differ on a dedicated server.

Give an item to yourself
Use the local-player command form documented by the V3.2 reference:
giveself itemName [qualityLevel=6] [count=1] [putInInventory=false] [spawnWithMods=true]
Replace itemName with the internal name. The bracketed values are optional parameters; consult the command help for your current build before relying on defaults or parameter behavior.
Give an item to another player
Server admins use a recipient-targeted command instead:

- A must-have for collectors and fans of Open-World Survival Horror, the 7 Days to Die – Console Edition Survival Bundle includes the following: An exclusive Artbook with over 100 pages showcasing never-before-seen illustrations of the zombie apocalypse, a CD featuring the haunting Original Soundtrack (OST) of the game, a double-sided poster, Fine art prints x3, Sticker sheets x 3, the physical game, and a collectible tuck-in box housing all the contents.
give <name / entity id> <item name> <amount>
The reference says the item is dropped in front of the target, the item name must match listitems, and an optional quality can be supplied for items that support quality. This is not the same recipient behavior as giveself.
Creative and debug menus
The cited PC reference describes cm as the creative-menu toggle and dm as the debug-menu toggle. These are separate from entering an item name with giveself; server permissions may restrict access.
Console and PC commands are not interchangeable
The PC-style F1 developer console and its command syntax do not map directly to the console-platform menus. The cited reference describes PS5 and Xbox cheat and Creative options as menu-based, and warns that menu access can shift between console builds. Do not paste PC giveself syntax into those menus; follow the instructions for the console build you are playing. See the platform and command reference.
Cheat commands and achievements
The V3.2 reference warns that spawning items, granting XP, or enabling debug mode can mark a single-player save as cheated and disable some progression-style achievements until a fresh save. It distinguishes dedicated servers, which do not award Steam achievements. Treat this as guidance for the cited version and mode rather than a guarantee about every platform or later build; check the current game’s behavior before using cheat features on a save where achievements matter. See the V3.2 command notes.

Why an item name may not work
-
Version mismatch: the reference list is derived from V3.2.0 (b9); a different build may have different names or available items.
-
Wrong kind of identifier: the command expects an internal item name, not necessarily a numeric ID or the on-screen label.
-
Modded game or server: mods can add items or register commands of their own. Check the server’s own list and help output.
-
Recipient or permission issue: use
giveselffor your local player and the server-admingiveform for another target; dedicated-server permissions may apply. What’s actually slowing this PC down?
