These eight Balatro seeds offer distinct run ideas, from Legendary Joker experimentation to a Polychrome Red Seal King of Hearts build. They are recommendations for different play styles—not a universal ranking or guaranteed winning routes. Seed guides provide the route notes below; they have not been independently tested here.
Which Balatro seed should you try?
Choose by the kind of run you want: some seeds center on face cards or copying a strong Joker, while others offer Tarot opportunities or a specific challenge. The routes below are described by Dot Esports, except where noted.

How to enter a seed in Balatro
Seed entry happens during run setup. Follow the deck and stake specified by the route you want to try, since changing setup can change the experience described by a guide.
- Choose New Run.
- Select the deck and stake recommended for the seed, if the guide specifies them.
- Choose the Seeded Run option and enter the seed code exactly.
- Make the route’s suggested choices as you play. If you wipe and start over, enter the seed again; Dot Esports notes it does not carry over automatically.
Balatro HQ also describes entering a seed through the run setup screen.

How seeded runs work—and what they do not do
A seed predetermines much of the run, including shop items, pack contents, Blind order, and other random events, according to Dot Esports and Balatro HQ. Balatro HQ says the same code produces the same sequence on the same game version; this does not establish identical results across versions or platforms.
- They are for practice and experimentation. The guides say seeded runs do not earn normal achievements or unlocks, so use an unseeded run if progression is your goal.
- A code is not a win guarantee. Purchases, skips, played hands, and Joker synergies still depend on your decisions. Treat route advice as a plan to explore, not a promise of success.
- Results can vary with your setup. Pro Game Guides cautions that missing unlocks can alter outcomes and that seeds may not work identically across platforms.
How to choose among these seeds
Pick based on the build you want to practice, how much route planning you enjoy, and whether you prefer experimentation or a particular challenge. Deck recommendations and route details differ among guides, so check the setup notes before entering a code. For an open-ended run, VMDK4RF8 offers room to build around what appears; for a more specific target, try the face-card routes or 11A8CHK2.
