There is no confirmed list or schedule of Fortnite outfits returning in 2026. This is an editorial wish list, not a leak or an official ranking: the eight picks below are notable for long Item Shop absences or limited promotional availability. Those histories make them interesting candidates, but do not establish that Epic will bring them back.
“Rare” means different things here. Some outfits were sold through the rotating Item Shop and have been absent for years; others came through promotions with a different availability route. The distinction matters: shop history can document a long wait, but it cannot predict a return.

What makes a Fortnite outfit rare?
For this list, rarity describes documented availability history—not an official value or a guarantee of future scarcity. A long absence from the Item Shop is different from a promotion that was limited to a particular offer. The available records also do not establish which of these outfits are eligible to return or whether Epic has plans for them.
The dated outfit ledger used for the histories below says it was verified September 9, 2026. Its last-seen dates are snapshots, not live shop data, and can become stale. Treat them as reported history rather than a current Epic schedule: Rarest Outfits’ Fortnite outfit ledger.

Eight rare Fortnite skins we’d like to see return
1. Travis Scott
Availability route: Item Shop collaboration. Last documented shop date: April 27, 2020, according to the third-party outfit ledger. That date supports calling it long absent from the shop record, not predicting a return in 2026. The collaboration’s bold concert aesthetic makes it a distinctive pick for players who missed its original shop appearance.
2. Astro Jack
Availability route: Item Shop collaboration outfit. It belongs on this wish list as a companion to the Travis Scott collaboration: its space-themed design gives it a different look from a conventional character outfit. The dated ledger records its shop history, but the sources here do not establish a 2026 return date or plan.
3. Reflex
Availability route: Item Shop outfit. Last documented shop date: March 4, 2019, in the third-party ledger. Its long recorded absence makes it a strong example of shop-history rarity. That is not the same as a limited promotion, and it is not evidence that Epic has scheduled it to return.

Availability route: Item Shop outfit. Rue is another candidate based on a long recorded gap in shop availability. The ledger documents her shop-history context, but the sources do not establish a return date for 2026. Her understated, sharply tailored look is the editorial reason to include her—not proof of a special rarity status.
5. Kratos
Availability route: Item Shop collaboration outfit. The ledger includes Kratos among outfits with relevant shop-history context. His inclusion reflects the appeal of seeing a recognizable gaming crossover back in Fortnite, not a confirmed Epic plan. Shop absence alone cannot establish whether or when the outfit will rotate back in.
6. Galaxy
Availability route: Limited promotional outfit, rather than an ordinary long-absent Item Shop listing. That different route is why Galaxy belongs in a separate kind of rarity conversation: promotion history is not interchangeable with a shop outfit’s last-seen date. The available sources do not confirm that Galaxy will return or describe a future way to obtain it.
7. IKONIK
Availability route: Limited promotional outfit. IKONIK’s history is tied to a promotion, so a long Item Shop absence is not the right measure to apply. Its inclusion recognizes that distinct availability history and the outfit’s place in Fortnite’s cosmetic catalog; it does not imply an ordinary shop return is planned.

8. Wonder

Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Why Renegade Raider and Aerial Assault Trooper are different cases
They are often cited as rare, but they are not accurate examples of outfits that have never returned. Epic announced that Renegade Raider and Aerial Assault Trooper would be available in the OG Season Shop starting December 20, 2024, with that announced shop window ending January 30, 2025. Epic’s announcement gave the XP thresholds as 1,500,000 XP for Renegade Raider and 1,000,000 XP for Aerial Assault Trooper; Aerial Assault One required 500,000 XP and Raider’s Revenge required 2,000,000 XP. These were requirements for that announced event, not current unlock instructions. Epic’s OG Season Shop announcement.
The OG Season Shop was also separate from the online Item Shop: Epic said it was available only from the Shop inside Fortnite. A third-party ledger records another OG Season Shop window from December 2025 through January 31, 2026, so the 2024 return was not the only recorded window. The dated outfit ledger.
Original-owner Black & Gold styles are a separate matter from the base outfits returning. Epic Support says those styles require having purchased the outfits in 2017; a later shop appearance does not itself confer that original-owner entitlement. Epic Support: Black & Gold styles.
What a possible 2026 return would—and would not—mean
- Shop outfits: A long gap in a third-party shop-history ledger can support “long absent,” but does not establish future availability.
- Promotional outfits: Their original limited offer is a different availability history. The sources do not establish a replacement offer or current eligibility.
- Past returns: A documented return, such as the OG Season Shop, proves that a specific event window occurred; it does not confirm a future window.
- Battle Pass questions: This shortlist does not establish a general rule about whether old Battle Pass outfits can return. Do not infer eligibility for a particular outfit from the examples here.
Epic’s announcement and support materials are the primary sources for the OG shop terms and original-owner styles. The outfit ledger is a third-party history source. Neither source provides a confirmed 2026 return schedule for the eight picks.
Can a Fortnite gift card unlock one of these outfits?
No. A gift card can fund V-Bucks, which can be spent on eligible cosmetics when they are available, but it does not grant a specific outfit or bypass its availability route. Epic says Fortnite gift cards are replacing V-Bucks cards, while some V-Bucks cards may still be available through participating retailers; card type and availability depend on region. Check the local offer before buying: Epic’s Fortnite gift card information. Epic Support also explains how a physical V-Bucks card can be given to another player and redeemed to their Epic account: Epic Support: gifting a V-Bucks card.
