The 8BitDo Retro 87 Mechanical Keyboard – Xbox Edition is a strong PC keyboard with Xbox styling, but it does not work with Xbox consoles. It is sold as a Windows and Android accessory. The sale price is real in the reporting we can point to, but it is a retailer snapshot from October 2026, not a fixed discount.
Can you use it with an Xbox console?
No. 8BitDo’s support FAQ answers “No” to the question of whether the keyboard can be used on Xbox consoles (8BitDo support page). The official product page describes the board as “Designed with Xbox” and “Officially licensed,” and lists compatibility with Windows and Android (8BitDo product page). The licensing and styling refer to the design, not to console connectivity.
The integrated Xbox button is a PC shortcut. According to 8BitDo, it opens Windows Game Bar. If you want a keyboard for a console, this product is not the right choice.

- Size: the tenkeyless layout is compact, but the frame takes up noticeable desk space.
- Wireless setup: the keyboard and the optional numpad each use a separate wireless dongle.
