These nine prospects are strong options for a budget-conscious EA SPORTS FC 25 Manager Career save, with reported player values below £10m and listed potential ratings of 87 or 88. The pound figures are database-reported player values—not guaranteed transfer fees. The ranking prioritizes potential, then weighs current overall rating, value, age and positional flexibility.
The figures below come from Sports Illustrated’s FC 25 player list, not a universal or personally tested in-game result. The cited list does not identify its squad-data version, so treat clubs and ratings as a snapshot. This shortlist covers male prospects; it is not a ranking of every Career Mode option.

How to use this shortlist
In Manager Career, a player’s potential is a long-term ceiling indicator, not a promise of immediate first-team readiness. Compare it with current overall, the role you need covered and the money available in your save. A listed value below £10m does not mean the player can be bought for that amount: the actual fee depends on the club and negotiations.
Recommended Free Tools
EA’s Career Mode guide describes Manager Career as a mode built around managing a club’s squad, tactics, transfers, finances and player development. EA also recommends downloading the latest squad updates to get current transfers and player ratings. A different update or save can therefore show different clubs or ratings from the snapshot below.

1. Geovany Quenda — wide attacker
Quenda leads this ranking because the cited list gives him 88 potential and three wide positions: right wing, right midfield and left wing. His reported value is £3.3m, and his 70 overall makes him a development signing rather than an established starter in the listed snapshot.

2. Pau Cubarsí — centre-back
Cubarsí shares the list’s top potential figure of 88 and has a 72 overall, the strongest starting rating among the three players at that ceiling. He is the shortlist’s specialist centre-back option; the trade-off for that role and rating is a higher reported value of £4.6m.

3. Semih Kılıçsoy — flexible forward

4. Franco Mastantuono — young attacking midfielder
At 16 in the cited snapshot, Mastantuono is the youngest player on this shortlist. His listed CAM/RM roles, 87 potential and £2.9m reported value make him an attractive long-term attacking option, but his 69 overall points to a need for development.
5. Assan Ouédraogo — central midfield cover
Ouédraogo is listed at 69 overall with 87 potential and a £2.9m value. CAM/CM eligibility makes him a practical choice if you want one prospect to develop in either an attacking or central midfield role.
Rank #4

6. Claudio Echeverri — higher-rated CAM
Echeverri has 87 potential and a 71 overall, higher than several of the listed 87-potential prospects. The database lists him only as a CAM, so he is a more focused option than the players with multiple positions; his reported value is £4m.
7. Assane Diao — wide midfield option
Diao is listed at 71 overall with 87 potential and a £4m value. His RM/LM coverage makes him a candidate for either flank in a wide-midfield setup, especially if a 71-rated prospect better suits your immediate needs than a lower-rated development project.
Best Value

8. Kendry Páez — versatile attacking midfielder
Páez combines a 72 overall with 87 potential, and his CAM/RW/CM listing gives him the broadest role coverage on this shortlist. The reported value is £4.6m, so his appeal is flexibility and a relatively high starting overall among the 87-potential group.
9. Lucas Bergvall — low-value central midfielder
Bergvall is the lowest-rated player here at 68 overall, but his 87 potential and £2.5m reported value make him a low-cost central-midfield development pick in the cited data. He is better suited to a squad with room to develop him than to a team needing immediate impact.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Close omission: Julien Duranville
Julien Duranville is a defensible alternative to the nine ranked players: Sports Illustrated’s same table lists him at 66 overall, 87 potential, age 18, a £2.2m value and LM/RM. He misses this particular cut because the ranking gives more weight to current overall and role balance among the 87-potential group. “Best” is a judgment, and a save needing another wide prospect may reasonably favor him instead.
