Memorable platformer characters
Mario: the instantly recognizable hero
Nintendo identifies Mario as the main hero of the Mushroom Kingdom. Princess Peach: more than a rescue objective

PAC-MAN: iconic design, with a genre distinction
Bandai Namco’s official character page calls attention to PAC-MAN’s iconic yellow color and round shape, and profiles recurring Ghost characters. That makes him a memorable video-game character, but the page does not establish that the original PAC-MAN is a platformer.
