If your mouse wheel will not zoom the camera in Roblox—or the camera moves in a way you did not expect—start by pressing I or O, then compare the behavior in another experience. Roblox lists the wheel and those keys as zoom controls, but an experience can restrict its camera mode or zoom range. These checks help distinguish an experience-specific setting from a broader input problem; none is a guaranteed fix for every case.
Try these nine checks in order
1. Test the I and O zoom keys
Roblox’s published default input bindings list the mouse scroll wheel and the I and O keys for zooming the camera. Try both keys while in the experience. If they work but the wheel does not, you can use them as a fallback while you troubleshoot. See Roblox’s input bindings.

2. Open the in-experience Settings menu
Open the Roblox menu while playing and check its Settings for the camera options available in that experience. Roblox Support explains that players can switch between Classic and Follow only when the experience developer has not locked the camera mode. 3. Try another available camera mode
If the Settings menu offers a choice between Classic and Follow, switch modes and test the wheel again. The modes handle camera movement differently, so a change may help if the unexpected behavior is tied to the current mode. If there is no choice, the developer may have restricted it; a missing option does not by itself mean Roblox is malfunctioning. 4. Check whether zoom is limited in that experience
Experience creators can set minimum and maximum zoom distances. Roblox’s Creator Hub documentation says that setting both distances to the same value locks the player’s zoom distance. This is a creator-side configuration, not a setting you can change as a player. If zoom is fixed in just one experience, its configured range may explain why the wheel appears ineffective. 5. Look for an intentional first-person or custom camera
Roblox documents camera modes including Classic and LockFirstPerson. LockFirstPerson keeps the view in first person, while an experience may also implement its own camera behavior. In those cases, wheel zoom may not behave as it does in another experience. Check the experience’s own instructions or settings if available. 6. Compare with another Roblox experience
Test the same wheel in a different experience. If it works there but not in the original one, that points toward a difference in the original experience’s camera settings or implementation—not a confirmed diagnosis. Developers can control camera modes and zoom ranges, so behavior can legitimately vary from experience to experience.
7. Test the wheel outside Roblox
Try scrolling in another app or on a webpage. If the wheel also fails there, a broader mouse, input, or operating-system problem becomes more plausible. If another input device is already available, testing it can help isolate the cause; there is no basis here to assume that buying a replacement mouse will fix a Roblox camera restriction or client issue.

8. Restart Roblox, then restart the computer if needed
Close and reopen Roblox, then restart the computer if the problem remains. Roblox Support recommends rebooting as general desktop troubleshooting, but does not identify a restart as a specific fix for a scroll-wheel problem. Its other advice, such as cache clearing, firewall checks, and reinstalling, addresses listed desktop play or installation issues rather than this particular symptom. 9. Contact Roblox Support with details if the issue persists
If you can reproduce the problem after these checks, contact Roblox Support. Include your device and operating system, the experience name, what you expected the wheel to do, what happened instead, whether I/O zoom works, and whether the wheel works in other experiences or apps. Those details make the behavior easier to describe without assuming a cause.
