There was no general claim form: eligible people with active PlayStation Network accounts were included automatically. The case’s fairness hearing is scheduled for October 15, 2026, but that is separate from the closed check-request deadline.
Who qualified for the PlayStation settlement?
The settlement is in Caccuri, et al. v. Sony Interactive Entertainment LLC, Civil Action No. 21-cv-03361-AMO, in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California. It concerns alleged anticompetitive conduct in the PlayStation digital-game market. Sony denied the allegations; the settlement notice says the court had not decided whether Sony violated any laws. The $7.85 million agreement is not a finding of liability. See the administrator’s official settlement information.
To fall within the class definition, a person must have bought one or more qualifying digital games through the PlayStation Store from April 1, 2019, through December 31, 2023. The title also had to meet specific voucher and price-history requirements:
- A game-specific voucher for the game was available at retail before April 1, 2019.
- At least 200 vouchers for that game had been redeemed before April 1, 2019.
- The game’s post-discount price increased by at least $0.50 when comparing January 1, 2017–March 31, 2019, with April 1, 2019–December 31, 2023.
Console ownership or a game’s title alone does not establish eligibility. Check the administrator’s eligible-games list and court documents against your purchase history.

Did you need to submit a claim form?
No standard claim form was required. According to the settlement FAQ, class members who met the definition and did not exclude themselves were included automatically. Eligible members with active PSN accounts were slated to receive settlement value as credits to their PSN wallets.
If your PSN account was deactivated
People with deactivated accounts could request a check by providing information about qualifying purchases and a current mailing address. The deadline to make that request was August 27, 2026. Because it has passed, the published process does not permit a new timely check request now.

How much could an eligible member receive?
The filed allocation plan calculates each eligible claimant’s share pro rata: the claimant’s qualifying-purchase count is divided by the total qualifying purchases among eligible claimants, then applied to the net settlement fund. The net amount is what remains after court-approved fees, costs, service awards, and administration expenses. Payment is described as PSN account credit, with the alternate check process for deactivated accounts subject to its expired request deadline.
The materials do not establish a guaranteed amount per person or an average payment. Class counsel may seek attorneys’ fees of up to 25% of the settlement, subject to court approval; counsel may also seek $30,000 in aggregate service awards for the three class representatives, also subject to approval. Neither figure is a final award.

What is the case status now?
As of October 7, 2026, the administrator listed a fairness hearing for October 15, 2026, at 2 p.m. in Oakland, California. The deadline for a class member wishing to appear to file a notice of intent to appear was October 1, 2026, and has passed. The reviewed information establishes the scheduled hearing, not its eventual outcome or the settlement’s final approval status. Check the administrator’s current site for updates after the hearing. For logistics, rely on its current notice rather than older courtroom details.
