Xbox Play Anywhere applies to Xbox and Microsoft Store/Xbox PC purchase paths, not every PC storefront. See the official editions announcement and the Xbox product page for current platform and purchase details.

Check PC requirements before choosing a storefront
If you want to play on PC, check the current requirements and compare them with your processor, graphics card, memory, and available storage before purchasing. Xbox Wire announced the final PC specifications, but the cited announcement presents them in an image rather than accessible text, so this comparison cannot responsibly list the required components or claim that PC runs better than console.
There is no verified PC-versus-console benchmark in the cited first-party materials. Xbox’s stated Series X|S support is not a direct performance comparison with PC: PC results depend on the hardware and settings. The official PC specifications announcement is on Xbox Wire; consult it and the live store listing before buying.
#1 Best Overall
- AN ORIGIN STORY BEGINS — Fight alongside Marcus Fenix and Dom Santiago in the gripping origin story of Emergence Day, as the Locust Horde erupts from below.
- A DARKER, GRITTIER THREAT — Face reimagined enemies and a terrifying underground invasion that restores the fear, dread, and intensity at the heart of the Gears of War series.
- MULTIPLAYER EVOLVED — Battle in Horde Siege for large‑scale PvE action or prove your skill in refined Versus PvP with greater precision and competitive depth.
- CLASSIC COMBAT, MODERNIZED — Experience signature cover‑based gameplay enhanced with updated movement, traversal, and controls that feel like Gears while playing like something new.
- CO‑OP YOUR WAY — Play online with up to four players across Campaign, Horde Siege, and Versus, or team up locally with 2‑player split‑screen co‑op on console.
Understand the store and subscription options
Buy once for Xbox and Microsoft Store PC
Xbox Play Anywhere means one qualifying Xbox Store or Xbox PC/Microsoft Store purchase gives access on Xbox Series X|S and Windows PC, with shared progression and achievements. It does not turn that purchase into a Steam license. If you want Steam, select that storefront and treat it as a separate purchase choice.
Use Game Pass if your plan includes the game
The Xbox product page lists Gears of War: E-Day with Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass. Game Pass access is subscription access, not permanent ownership; confirm the current catalog and your plan before paying separately.

Compare Standard and Premium now that early access has ended
The US Xbox product page lists Standard at $69.99 and Premium at $99.99, with a $30 Premium upgrade for Standard owners. These are US Xbox page prices, not universal regional prices; check the relevant store at checkout. Premium adds the Bravo Squad Signature Weapon Pack, five Seasonal Customization Packs beginning with the Emergence Pack, and 1,000 Iron. These are bonus content, not a stated gameplay advantage.
Premium originally included up to five days of early access, which began October 1 ahead of the worldwide October 6, 2026 launch. That window is over, so it is no longer a reason to pay extra. Xbox’s current edition listing has the US pricing and benefits.

- Disc only. Original case and manual not included. Will come packaged in a generic case.
- This renewed game has been cleaned, tested, and shows minimal wear.
What the Collector’s Edition includes
The Collector’s Edition is the physical-collectibles option, but the game license format differs by platform: the Xbox Series X version includes a physical disc, while the Steam version includes a digital token. The package also includes physical collectibles and Premium game access. Stock and availability vary by region, so confirm the edition and license format with the seller; do not assume the Steam package contains a conventional disc. Details are in the Xbox Wire Collector’s Edition announcement and the official editions announcement.
