Start by identifying what is failing: check for an official maintenance notice, note whether you see an error code, confirm you are using a supported Windows PC launcher, and compare your hardware with AION 2’s published requirements. The only specific crash-related procedure documented by AION 2 support applies to Steam error 1138:100134; it is not a universal fix for silent closes or poor performance.
First, identify where the failure occurs
“Crashing on start up,” a game that “closes silently,” and “no error message” describe different symptoms, but those phrases alone do not establish a cause. Use the pattern to decide what to check first; it is a practical sorting aid, not an official diagnostic test.

- Login fails or becomes unavailable: check AION 2’s current official announcements for maintenance before changing your PC. A maintenance notice can temporarily make login unavailable.
- You see error 1138:100134 in Steam: follow the official steps for that exact error below.
- The game will not install or launch: confirm you installed it through a supported PC platform, then check your Windows version, hardware, and available storage against the published requirements.
- The game closes without an error or runs poorly: compare your system with the requirements and note when the problem occurs. The available official material does not establish a general fix for these symptoms.
Check for maintenance before troubleshooting your PC
If you cannot log in, look at the official AION 2 announcements for a current maintenance notice. One notice covering October 6, 2026 PDT / October 7 CEST said login would be temporarily unavailable during maintenance; it is a dated example, not a statement of current server status. The publisher says schedules and details may change, so rely on the latest announcement.
Fix the documented Steam error 1138:100134
If the message reads “Failed to reset Steam account linking. Please check Steam’s status and restart the game. (1138:100134),” AION 2 Global Support prescribes running Steam as administrator and trying again. Its guidance is specific to this error.

- Close AION 2 and exit Steam.
- Right-click the Steam shortcut and choose Run as administrator.
- Launch AION 2 again through Steam.
- If error 1138:100134 persists, submit a request to AION 2 Customer Service.
Do not assume this procedure addresses a crash with a different code or a silent close.
Compare your PC with AION 2’s requirements
The publisher’s published specifications are a useful first check for installation and performance problems. Meeting the recommended tier does not guarantee that the game will be crash-free.

These CPU, memory, NVIDIA GPU, DirectX, and storage figures are from the AION 2 Global Support FAQ and the Steam listing. The official Korean download page also lists Radeon RX 470 (4 GB) at minimum and RX 5700 XT (8 GB) as recommended. Its recommended FHD preset is “Normal,” while the English Steam listing says “Low”; both list “Very Low” at minimum. Treat those preset labels as a regional/page discrepancy rather than combining them into one specification. The Korean figures and presets appear on the official Korean download page.
Check free storage separately from the download size
The official requirements specify 100 GB available storage, and the publisher recommends an SSD. Its download page says the initial installation may require approximately 70 GB or more; that initial figure does not replace the 100 GB published free-space target. Check available space on the drive you intend to use before installing.
Confirm you are installing through a supported PC platform
AION 2’s official PC download instructions use PURPLE: install the launcher, select AION 2 from its Store menu, then choose “Game Install” in the AION 2 lobby. The official FAQ identifies Steam and PURPLE on Windows PC as supported platforms. It says controller play may be possible but is not officially supported, and Linux and Steam Deck are not official support platforms.

- Open PURPLE and choose AION 2 from the Store menu.
- In the AION 2 lobby, select Game Install.

The cited official material does not provide a general remedy for silent crashes or poor performance. Avoid treating driver reinstalls, runtime reinstalls, or hardware purchases as guaranteed fixes: the official download page lists DirectX 12 or later, Visual Studio Redistributable 2015–2022, and vendor graphics-driver resources, but listing those resources does not establish that reinstalling one will solve an individual problem.
If your PC is below the published requirements, address that mismatch before buying parts or changing software. If you are considering an SSD, verify that it is compatible with your PC’s interface and form factor, and that it provides the needed free space; the publisher’s SSD recommendation is not a promise that an upgrade will stop crashes.
