Larson Conway is a mercenary working for Jacqueline Natla and an antagonist in Lara Croft’s search for the Scion. Official sources connect him to Tomb Raider (1996) and Tomb Raider: Anniversary (2007); he is also set to return in Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis, scheduled for February 12, 2027.
Who is Larson in Tomb Raider?
Larson is a mercenary employed by Natla. In the original story, he contacts Lara to draw her into the search for the Scion, an ancient artifact. He works alongside fellow mercenary Pierre Dupont, and the two serve Natla while intending to betray Lara.
Crystal Dynamics Game Director Raul Siqueira describes Larson as a brute and explains that he is responsible for contacting Lara so she can begin the Scion search. Siqueira also calls Pierre Larson’s partner in crime. Those details make Larson more than a hired gun: he is part of the scheme that sets Lara’s adventure in motion.
What is Larson’s relationship with Lara?
Larson is an antagonist, but the official feature on Legacy of Atlantis presents the dynamic as more complicated than a simple rivalry. Lara performer Alix Wilton Regan says that Lara and Larson have a bit of a crush on each other, and describes him as the closest thing to Lara’s equal in capability in that game—though he makes mistakes. These are comments about the forthcoming adaptation, not a universal description of every version of their relationship.
