What arrived with Upheaval?
Upheaval introduced Alter as a new Legend and brought a limited-time Solos Takeover, changes to Broken Moon, and customizable Apex Artifacts, according to EA’s Upheaval overview.

EA’s patch notes describe three abilities: Gift from the Rift lets Alter remotely claim one item from a deathbox, but not a shield core; Void Passage creates a portal passage through a surface; and Void Nexus creates a regroup point allies can use to return through a phase tunnel.

Solos Takeover
The Solos Takeover ran from May 7 to June 24, 2024, replacing Duos during that period. EA highlighted Battle Sense for detecting nearby enemies, pre-kitted weapons and attachments, auto-heal, and Second Chance mechanics. These details are in the patch notes and season overview.
Broken Moon and Apex Artifacts
EA also highlighted changes to Broken Moon and customizable Apex Artifacts. Its May 3, 2024 Apex Artifacts announcement says Artifacts could be customized with Exotic Shards, a new currency that could be purchased directly like Apex Coins.
