It adds visual updates, revised camera and control options, and a Boba Fett skin unlocked after completing the campaign. It is not Star Wars’ latest classic-game return: Star Wars Episode I: Jedi Power Battles also returned on modern platforms in January 2025.
What is Star Wars: Bounty Hunter?
Star Wars: Bounty Hunter is a third-person action-adventure starring Jango Fett, set before Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones. Its story sends Jango after a deranged Dark Jedi. Combat draws on his dual blasters, flamethrower, toxic darts and jetpack missiles. The 2024 release revisits the original 2002 game rather than presenting a new story. Aspyr’s FAQ says the port uses the original GameCube source code.
What changed in the remaster?
Aspyr describes the release as a native port, not emulation. Its stated changes focus on presentation and controls rather than a redesigned campaign.
- Updated visuals: Environmental textures use bump maps, and dynamic lighting has been added.
- Flashlight: Jango can use newly added flashlight equipment to see in dark areas.
- Reworked camera: The camera system was reengineered around contemporary left-stick movement and right-stick camera control.
Those are the specific enhancements Aspyr identifies; the available official information does not establish a broader performance comparison with the 2002 release.

Which controls and platform features are available?
Modern and Legacy layouts
Players can choose Modern controls, designed to feel familiar to players of contemporary action-adventure games, or Legacy controls, intended to recreate the original game’s feel. Aspyr’s FAQ lists button mappings for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, Xbox and Steam Deck. The PC release also adds mouse-and-keyboard support, which Aspyr says is a first for the game.
PS5 DualSense features
On PS5, the DualSense adaptive triggers provide distinct feedback for different weapons. In-game radio communications play through the controller speaker, and the lightbar indicates Jango’s health. These features are documented by the PlayStation Blog; they are specific to the PS5 version.

Can you play as Boba Fett?

It does not describe a separate Boba Fett campaign.

No. Bounty Hunter arrived in 2024, but Star Wars Episode I: Jedi Power Battles returned to modern platforms on January 23, 2025, according to StarWars.com. Calling Bounty Hunter the latest classic-game remaster is therefore outdated as of October 2026.
