Yes, in some cases—but linking an Xbox account does not mean it replaces a Ubisoft account in every Ubisoft Connect sign-in flow. Ubisoft says a linked platform account may be used to sign in to Ubisoft Account Management. Ubisoft Connect itself requires a Ubisoft account and is available through its PC app or directly in supported games on PC and console. Ubisoft Connect overview · Ubisoft’s account-linking guidance
Sign-in, account linking, and Ubisoft Connect are different things
Ubisoft documents that a linked platform account may let you log in to the Ubisoft Account Management website. Separately, Ubisoft says Ubisoft Connect requires a Ubisoft account. That means an Xbox account can be connected to your Ubisoft account and may help you access Account Management, but the available guidance does not establish Xbox-only sign-in for every Ubisoft Connect app, website, or region.
When you play a Ubisoft game on Xbox, you can access Ubisoft Connect directly through supported games. On PC, Ubisoft Connect is available through its desktop app. The account link connects your platform identity with your Ubisoft account; it is not a universal substitute for having a Ubisoft account.
How to link your Xbox account to Ubisoft
Use Ubisoft Account Information
- Sign in to your Ubisoft account and open the Account Information page.
- Open Linked accounts, find the platform entry for Xbox, and select Link.
- Follow the pop-up instructions. Before confirming, check that the Xbox and Ubisoft accounts shown are the ones you intend to connect.
Link through a game
Ubisoft also documents linking by launching a game and logging in to Ubisoft Connect. Follow the in-game prompt and verify the accounts displayed before accepting the link. Linking may enable features such as cross-play or cross-progression when the particular game and platform support them.

Check before unlinking or changing Xbox accounts
Ubisoft warns that linking or unlinking platform accounts can have a lasting impact on games and subscriptions. Its general guidance says you can relink only the same platform account that was originally connected. If you need to connect a different Xbox account, contact Ubisoft Support through the account-linking help page rather than assuming you can freely swap accounts after unlinking.
Fix “This profile is already linked to another user” on PC Game Pass
For Ubisoft games on PC Game Pass, Ubisoft says this message means the Xbox account is already linked to another Ubisoft account. Its guidance is to unlink the Ubisoft account from the Xbox account and then link the Ubisoft account you intend to use. The restriction still applies: only the Xbox account previously linked to that Ubisoft account can be linked back. If you need to use a different Xbox account, contact Ubisoft Support. What account linking does for cross-play and progression
Ubisoft defines cross-play as playing with friends on different platforms, and cross-progression as accessing game progress on a linked platform where you own the game. Neither feature is guaranteed by linking alone: availability varies by game and platform, and cross-progression may require buying the game on more than one platform. Check the support information for the specific game before relying on either feature. Ubisoft’s cross-play and cross-progression guidance
