No. EA says purchases made through the EA app cannot be transferred to Steam. Linking your EA Account to Steam connects the accounts for eligible games; EA does not say it moves Sims 4 Pack purchases between storefronts. There is a separate rule for Packs bought with real money in The Sims 4 Marketplace, which EA says should download to the PC platform you use to play.
What happens to Packs you bought through the EA app?
EA’s general guidance is that a game purchased through the EA app cannot be transferred to Steam. That means you should treat Sims 4 Packs bought through the EA app as EA app purchases, not as Steam entitlements. EA does not describe a process for migrating those existing purchases to Steam. If you launch The Sims 4 through Steam, do not assume your EA app Pack purchases will appear in Steam just because the accounts are linked. If a Pack is missing from the account where you bought it, contact EA Support with the purchase or order details; EA’s published guidance does not promise an account-specific transfer exception.
Does linking your EA Account to Steam move your Packs?
No. EA says you need to link your accounts the first time you play an EA game on Steam. That is an account connection for playing, not a transfer of purchases between storefronts. How Marketplace Pack purchases differ
EA gives a separate instruction for Packs bought in The Sims 4 Marketplace with real-world money: they should automatically download to the PC platform you use to play The Sims 4, including the EA app, Steam, or Epic Games. This describes delivery of Marketplace purchases to the platform being used; it does not establish that a Pack previously bought through the EA app can be transferred into Steam’s storefront. Check your Pack ownership and installation
- Confirm the account. Sign in to the EA Account used when the Pack was purchased, and check which storefront account was used for the purchase.
- Open the add-on list. In the EA app, go to Library, select The Sims 4, choose Manage, then Manage Add-ons.
- Check the Pack status. EA’s Pack guidance says this is where you can review ownership and manually download a Pack. It also says Packs should install automatically after purchase. - Link accounts only when needed to play on Steam. Follow EA’s account-linking guidance, but do not treat linking as a way to transfer an EA app purchase.
Why you should not unlink accounts to test this
EA warns that unlinking accounts can permanently remove access to DLC and expansions. It also says entitlements linked through Steam remain on the EA Account first linked to that Steam account. Buying future Packs on another platform
EA says Stack & Save is available to PC and Mac players using the EA app, but not on Steam, Epic, PlayStation, or Xbox. This is relevant when deciding where to make future purchases; it does not change the status of Packs you already bought through the EA app. Check EA’s current terms before buying, since availability can change.
