Its documented combat controls cover attacking, blocking and casting spells—not a separate second-weapon input.
What you can equip instead
Bethesda’s original Oblivion PC manual describes the classic equipment model: “Weapons equip in your right hand, shields and torches in your left.” That is evidence about the original game’s equipment system, not a Remastered-specific statement. Bethesda’s Remastered control pages likewise document attack, block, spell-casting and inventory controls, but no control for attacking with a second weapon.
- One-handed weapon and shield: Use a shield in the off-hand slot for defense.
- One-handed weapon and torch: The original manual identifies a torch as another left-hand option.
- Two-handed weapon: The original manual says a two-handed weapon cannot be used with a shield.
- Weapon and spells: Remastered controls list spell casting separately from attacking, so casting remains a distinct combat action rather than dual wielding.
How combat controls work on Switch 2
Bethesda’s Switch 2 motion-control guide labels a horizontal Joy-Con swing as “Horizontal Swing = Standard Attack.” The guide assigns spell, block and other inputs to the left Joy-Con; it does not describe a second weapon-hand attack. The control scheme changes how you perform actions, not the documented equipment options.
Why a Bethesda dual-wielding FAQ can be misleading
A Bethesda support result titled “Will we be able to equip the left and right hand individually?” mentions dual wielding, but the page does not identify Oblivion Remastered. It therefore cannot establish that this game supports the feature. The Remastered control documentation and the original game’s manual point instead to weapon combat without a second independently wielded weapon.
