Why did Shantae Advance arrive more than 20 years later?
Shantae Advance: Risky Revolution began as a Game Boy Advance project that was left unfinished. WayForward later revived and completed it, turning a long-dormant GBA game into a modern release. When and where was it released?
WayForward and Nintendo list August 19, 2025, as the release date. The digital version launched for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam. What is different in the modern version?

Was a release trailer confirmed?
Not by the official source material available for this article. Search results surfaced a release-window trailer from November 2023 and an extended gameplay trailer from June 2025, but neither should be called the release trailer without confirming the specific video. What physical versions were announced?
WayForward announced Standard, Classic, and Revolutionary physical editions for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox, and PC. A separate GBA-compatible cartridge release was announced with Limited Run Games. Its collector’s package was described as including a cartridge, display frame, manual, box, coin, pin, soundtrack CD, poster, and deluxe packaging.
