You should not share your EA Account login. EA’s User Agreement says the account is yours and not to share it. Sharing a game through a console or storefront feature is a separate question: it depends on the platform and the specific game, and EA’s guidance does not provide one universal answer.
What “sharing EA games” can mean
There are three different things people may mean: giving someone your EA password, letting another profile use a digital purchase through a platform’s sharing feature, or adding a child to an EA family account. The rules for one do not establish the rules for the others.

- EA Account credentials: EA’s User Agreement, last updated May 14, 2026, says: “You are responsible for the activity on your EA Account; it’s yours, don’t share it.”
- Platform game licenses: Console and storefront sharing are governed by the relevant platform’s rules. EA’s account guidance does not settle whether another user can play a particular EA title through those features.
- Family controls: EA describes family accounts as tools for an adult to manage a teen’s playtime and spending, not as a shared game library.
Can another profile play a game you bought?
Possibly, if the platform’s own sharing rules allow it for that title and purchase. Check where you bought the game—such as the EA app, Steam, PlayStation Store, or Xbox Store—and consult that platform’s current official guidance for the exact game. Do not assume that an EA account connection grants another person access to your purchases.
EA says most games require an EA Account, including when played through another platform such as Steam. That requirement does not mean the second player should use your EA login. Use separate EA and platform accounts where the game and platform support that setup.

Before relying on a sharing feature, confirm the platform’s terms for the specific title, including whether the purchase license is shared, whether both people can play at once, and what applies to online multiplayer, subscriptions, saves, progression, and add-on entitlements. EA’s reviewed guidance does not establish those details across platforms.
Does an EA family account share games?
No library-sharing capability is described in EA’s family-account information. EA presents family accounts as a way for an adult to manage a teen’s playtime and spending. Do not treat family management as a way to transfer or share game ownership.

Does linking or unlinking accounts move purchases?
Account linking connects services and can affect where game progress and entitlements are associated; it is not advertised by EA as a purchase-sharing feature. EA warns that progress and purchases are tied to the relevant long-term account, and some entitlements remain with the EA Account first linked to a platform account.
EA’s current linking guidance says connected platform accounts can be switched up to three times in a rolling year. Treat that as an operational limit, not as permission to move purchases freely. EA also says data remains with the original account after a game move. Review EA’s unlinking guidance before changing a connection; if purchases, saves, or entitlements are involved, contact EA Help rather than experimenting with accounts.

What to check before you try sharing
- Identify the storefront or console where you purchased the game.
- Check that platform’s current official family- or console-sharing rules and the listing for the exact EA game.
- Use separate EA and platform accounts where supported; do not give another person your EA password as a workaround.
- Before unlinking or relinking accounts, review EA’s guidance and get support if you may affect purchases, saves, or entitlements.
Bottom line
Do not share your EA Account login. Another person’s ability to play a particular EA game through platform-level sharing depends on the platform, game, and purchase; verify those rules directly rather than inferring them from EA account linking or family controls.
