Yes. Roblox may moderate or terminate an account for rule-breaking, and its Terms of Use specifically say suspicious trading activity—including trading or receiving stolen items—may lead to account moderation at Roblox’s discretion. A report does not guarantee a ban, and Roblox does not publish one fixed penalty for every scam situation.
How Roblox treats trading scams
Roblox identifies its official Trade and Sell features as the safe ways to exchange eligible items or Robux. It warns users not to use them—or informal arrangements—to pay for accounts, real-world money, or groups; lend accounts or items; make trust-based deals where one person must go first; or give another person an item to sell or trade. Roblox says it cannot enforce deals made outside its official features or return items or Robux lost in those deals. Roblox’s trading-scam guidance puts it plainly: “Deals made outside these features are never protected — so the safest habit is to keep every trade inside Roblox’s official features.”

The Trade Quality Filter is not a guarantee
Roblox’s Trade Quality Filter flags offers it considers low quality or one-sided. You can adjust it in your account privacy and trading settings, but Roblox cautions that it will not catch every bad deal. Treat it as a preventive aid, not proof that an offer is safe.
What can happen to an account
Possible consequences depend on the conduct and Roblox’s moderation decision. Roblox says content-related violations can lead to warnings, content removal, or account-level restrictions. It considers factors such as severity, impact, and a user’s history; repeated violations may bring stronger consequences. Separately, the Terms of Use say suspicious trading activity may result in account moderation at Roblox’s discretion.
#1 Best Overall
That does not mean every accusation or reported trade results in a ban. Roblox’s published guidance does not set a scam-specific penalty schedule or guarantee a particular outcome for a first incident, a repeat incident, or any individual report. A report is not itself the same as Roblox deciding to moderate an account.
Scamming is not the same policy issue as exploiting
Roblox says cheating or exploiting violates its Terms and will lead to account deletion. That specific consequence is about exploiting or cheating; it should not be treated as the automatic penalty for every scam allegation or trade dispute. See Roblox’s cheating and exploiting guidance.

What to do if someone scams you—or accuses you
- Report suspected misconduct: Use the Report Abuse buttons on Roblox, as described in its trading-scam guidance. Reporting alerts Roblox; it does not guarantee a specific moderation outcome or restore items from an unprotected deal.
- Keep exchanges within official features: Use Roblox’s Trade or Sell features for eligible exchanges rather than relying on promises, lending, or off-platform arrangements.
- Protect account access: Never share your password, browser cookies, two-step verification codes, or backup codes. Avoid unfamiliar links and login forms. Roblox explains these precautions in Keep Your Account Safe.
How to appeal a Roblox moderation action
If Roblox moderates your account and you believe the action was mistaken, use the appeal route described in the moderation notice. Roblox says an appeal prompts another review, but does not guarantee that the consequence will be removed. Under its appeal guidance, most account appeals must be submitted within 30 days of the moderation action; users in the EU have six months to appeal an initial moderation action.
