A launch-eve report put Black Myth: Wukong’s PS5 pre-load at 104.394 GB. The figure was attributed to the PlayStation Game Size account on X; it was not published as a file size on PlayStation’s official game page. Treat it as a reported pre-load figure from August 19, 2024—not a verified measure of the game’s current, fully updated installation.
How large was the reported PS5 pre-load?
PlayStation Universe reported a PS5 pre-load size of 104.394 GB on August 19, 2024, citing the PlayStation Game Size account on X. That is the specific size figure available in the cited reporting. PlayStation Universe’s launch-eve report describes it as a pre-load size; it should not be recast as an official Sony confirmation.

PlayStation’s US product page confirms the game’s PS5 availability and gives its release date as August 20, 2024, but does not list a download or installation size. The official PlayStation listing is useful for platform and release details, not for verifying the 104.394 GB number.
Does 104.394 GB describe the current installed game?
No current installed-size figure is established by these sources. The reported number is historical and refers to pre-loading before the August 2024 launch. Patches and subsequent updates can affect the space a present-day installation needs, and the cited sources do not quantify that change.

Check the console’s available storage before starting the download, and follow any space requirement shown on the console. The evidence does not show that every player needs an expansion drive.

The launch-era interest was substantial enough for Sony’s PlayStation Blog to place the game first in its August 2024 PS5 download charts for both the US/Canada and EU listings. Sony’s chart post supplied no download count, so the placement does not provide a numerical sales or download total. Sony’s August 2024 download charts provide that context, not a file-size comparison.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Does the reported size make it one of the largest PS5 games?
The available sources do not provide a consistent, same-platform comparison with other games, so they cannot support ranking Black Myth: Wukong among the largest PS5 installs. A fair comparison would need to distinguish pre-load downloads from fully updated installed sizes and account for when each measurement was taken.
