Digital Extremes briefly opened Soulframe’s Preludes pre-alpha to everyone who signed up during TennoCon 2026 weekend, but that window ended on July 12, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. ET. As of October 8, 2026, eligible signups made by the cutoff can access the game; people who signed up later must wait for an invitation.
What “Preludes” means in Soulframe
Preludes is Soulframe’s pre-alpha development phase: an early, evolving version of the game that Digital Extremes says it is shaping alongside the community. It is not a finished public release. The studio says it will remain in Preludes for as long as needed to develop the game’s world, systems and story. Digital Extremes describes Preludes on the official Soulframe site, while its FAQ explains the access and release plans.
Who can play now?
| When you signed up | How access works |
|---|---|
| By July 12, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. ET, during TennoCon weekend | Eligible signups can log in and download Preludes. Digital Extremes says it sends an email to the address used to sign up. |
| After the cutoff | You are in the invitation queue, not automatically admitted. Digital Extremes says it is sending 2,000 invitations per week; that cadence does not establish an individual wait time. |
The TennoCon 2026 recap confirms that the open Preludes weekend ended at the July 12 deadline. The official Soulframe FAQ gives the precise eligibility cutoff and says access then returned to a closed invitation process. It does not explain how invitations are selected, so the queue should not be assumed to be first-come, first-served. Invitation emails include codes that recipients can share with friends.
How to join the queue
- Go to Soulframe.com and sign up for Preludes using the email address where you want to receive updates and any invitation.
- If you signed up after July 12, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. ET, wait for an invitation email. Signing up does not provide immediate access, and Digital Extremes has not published a personal wait-time estimate.
- If invited, follow the instructions in the email to access and download the PC game through the official site.
Platforms, storefronts and full release
Preludes is currently PC-only and distributed through the official Soulframe site. Digital Extremes says there is no current Steam or Epic Games Store release. The studio intends to broaden access when the game is ready, but has not given a date; it expects console availability to align with a fuller release rather than the Preludes phase. There is no firm public-release date, and those plans are subject to change.
