How Bento Tokens worked
Bungie announced Past Is Prologue on January 16, 2025. Players could pick up Bento Token quests from the Drifter beginning January 21, then take earned tokens to Eris to claim rewards. The event lasted two weeks, and Bungie told players to spend their tokens before Heresy. Its announcement said the total earnable amount was eight.

How to choose what to spend tokens on
Bungie published the prices and reward list, not a universal best-value ranking. With eight tokens available, the right choice depended on what you needed and which rewards mattered to you. These are decision factors, not Bungie recommendations.

Choose materials if you needed upgrade resources
Ascendant Alloys, Ascendant Shards, Exotic Ciphers, and Spoils of Conquest were among the one-token options. The Spoils purchase was limited to three, so it could not be repeated without limit. Consider these options if the relevant resource would help with your immediate plans more than a particular weapon or cosmetic.
Choose a weapon or Memento you specifically wanted
Cataphract GL3 (Adept), Igneous Hammer (Adept), Horror’s Least (Adept), Riptide, and each listed event Memento cost one token apiece. A specific item you wanted could make a more useful choice than a resource you had little use for; the published list alone does not show which reward was strongest for every player.

Decide whether two tokens were worth one class-specific armor piece
Artifice Armor cost two tokens for one high-stat piece for the character’s class. That meant allocating a quarter of the stated eight-token maximum to a single armor piece. Whether that trade made sense depended on your interest in the armor and your remaining reward priorities.
Account for Cloudstrike and the shader threshold
Cloudstrike cost three tokens. Separately, turning in five tokens unlocked Chatterwhite Shader. If you wanted both, those thresholds together represented eight tokens—the full amount Bungie said players could earn. The shader was described as an unlock after turning in five, not as another reward with a stated token price.

What to know about availability
Past Is Prologue was a two-week event in January 2025, and Bungie’s announcement instructed players to spend tokens before Heresy. That announcement does not establish that Bento Token quests or Eris’s reward redemption are available now. Treat the costs here as the historical event’s prices rather than current vendor instructions.
