Heresy Act II added five weapons to Destiny 2’s Heretical Arsenal, not ten. This guide ranks those five as an editorial shortlist based on role coverage, distinctiveness, and the historical perk options reported at launch—not on a verified current PvE or PvP performance ranking. Other weapons were available during the Act II period, but Bungie described them in separate reward contexts.
What counts as a Heresy Act II weapon?
The five weapons added to the Heretical Arsenal with Act II were Division, Refusal of the Call, Anamnesis, Mirror Imago, and Afterlight. Their weapon families and elements are an Arc sidearm, Strand glaive, Void bow, Strand submachine gun, and Void fusion rifle, respectively. Bungie’s Act II preview described five remaining arsenal weapons; a contemporaneous list provides their names and weapon types. Bungie’s Act II preview · Pro Game Talk’s list

The title’s “Top 10” framing needs a qualification: the verified seasonal arsenal contains five, and the available sources do not establish a defensible, current ten-weapon comparison. The ranking below is therefore limited to those five rather than padding it with unrelated Act II-period drops.
Five Heresy Act II weapons, ranked
This is an editorial ordering, not a claim about measured damage, usage, or current meta strength. It weighs how clearly each weapon fills a role, how distinctive that role is within this set, and whether the historical perk options suggest useful build directions. Current performance can change with sandbox updates.

1. Anamnesis — Void Lightweight combat bow
Anamnesis earns the top spot for the range and utility expected of a combat bow, alongside a reported perk pool with several possible build directions. The March 2025 recap lists Archer’s Tempo and Explosive Head for general bow utility, plus Dragonfly, Repulsor Brace, Destabilizing Rounds, and Sword Logic as other reported options. Those are possible perks, not a claim that any particular combination is best today.
2. Division — Arc Heavy Burst sidearm
Division is the set’s Arc sidearm. Its reported fourth-column options include Voltshot, Kill Clip, and Sword Logic, giving it potential routes toward elemental effects or direct damage. That makes it a flexible-looking pick on paper, but the source material does not establish how it compares with current sidearms in actual activities.
3. Afterlight — Void Adaptive fusion rifle
Afterlight brings a special-ammo fusion rifle option in Void. The historical perk recap includes Reservoir Burst, Vorpal Weapon, and Destabilizing Rounds among its fourth-column possibilities. Its value depends on the encounter and build; those listed perks alone do not prove a current advantage over other fusion rifles.

4. Refusal of the Call — Strand Adaptive glaive
Refusal of the Call is a Strand Adaptive glaive with a frontal shield and energy generation from ranged damage, as described in the contemporaneous weapon recap. Reported options include Close to Melee, Sword Logic, and Vorpal Weapon. It offers a distinct defensive and close-range role, though glaive projectile behavior and other weapon details have been tuned since launch.

5. Mirror Imago — Strand submachine gun
Mirror Imago is the set’s Strand submachine gun. The available contemporaneous source identifies it as part of the seasonal weapon set, but does not document its detailed perk pool here. Without a verified perk list or current performance comparison, it ranks on its role and place in the set rather than an asserted roll advantage.
How to interpret the perk options
The named perk pools above come from a March 2025 recap of the developer livestream, not from a present-day guarantee of availability, drop behavior, or competitive strength. Treat them as historical roll possibilities, and check current item details in-game before committing materials or building around a combination. The Game Post’s March 2025 perk recap

Likewise, Act II’s artifact gave Trace Rifles period-specific attention through Overload Trace Rifles, Beam Medic healing after rapid Trace Rifle final blows, and Harsh Refraction’s damage bonuses against targets with matching elemental debuffs. That explains why Trace Rifles could fit Act II builds; it is not evidence that the same artifact benefits apply now. At Act II’s launch in March 2025, Bungie described Court of Blades as an activity where players could earn the five Heretical Arsenal weapons. Bungie also said drops could be Adept and that some weapons could roll with extra perks in both perk columns and the Runneth Over Origin Trait. These are historical launch details, not confirmation of a current farming route. Bungie’s Act II preview · Bungie’s March 13 Act II update

Why other Act II-period drops are not in this ranking
Bungie’s March 13 update also mentioned a Guardian Games Trace Rifle and Lotus-Eater, a Rocket Sidearm available through Nightfalls, with Adept versions tied to Grandmaster Nightfalls. Those rewards belong to separate activity or event contexts; they are not members of the five-weapon Heretical Arsenal. Mixing them into this list would change the subject from the Act II arsenal to a broader set of weapons that happened to be available around the same time. Bungie’s March 13 Act II update
What this ranking can—and cannot—tell you
The available official notes and launch-era reporting establish the weapons’ identities, broad roles, historical acquisition context, and some reported perk options. They do not provide a current comparative PvE or PvP ranking, performance statistics, or evidence that one roll is best across activities. Bungie’s June 2026 Update 9.7.0 also revised archetype-based Anti-Champion rules, a reminder that older artifact advice can age out; its sword-specific assignments do not apply to these five weapons simply because they are seasonal rewards. Bungie’s June 2026 Update 9.7.0
For a practical choice, start with the weapon family or element your build needs, then confirm the current perk pool and acquisition path in-game. The ranking is a way to scan the five weapons—not a substitute for current sandbox testing.
