Deluxe Speed-Gro is a Stardew Valley fertilizer that makes crops grow at least 25% faster. You can craft five at a time once you reach Farming Level 8, or buy it from select shops. It helps bring a crop’s first harvest sooner, but does not shorten the time between repeat harvests.
What Deluxe Speed-Gro does
The in-game description reads: “Stimulates leaf production. Guaranteed to increase growth rate by at least 25%. Mix into tilled soil.” The bonus applies to crop growth and can bring the first harvest forward. With the Agriculturist Profession, the official Stardew Valley Wiki states the total growth increase is 35%.

Deluxe Speed-Gro is a growth fertilizer, not a quality fertilizer: it does not improve the chance of growing silver-, gold-, or iridium-quality crops. For details on its effect and Profession interaction, see the official wiki entry for Deluxe Speed-Gro.
How to craft it
Reach Farming Level 8 to unlock the recipe. Each craft uses one Oak Resin and five Bone Fragments and produces five Deluxe Speed-Gro, according to the official crafting reference.

The fertilizer page records recipe changes in version 1.6, so older guides may show an outdated recipe. Check the current recipe rather than relying on an older ingredient list.

When and how to apply it
Apply Deluxe Speed-Gro to tilled soil before planting, after planting, or while the crop is still growing. If you use it after growth has begun, it reduces the remaining growth time, but it cannot give back time from stages the crop has already completed. Earlier application therefore gives the fertilizer more opportunity to affect the crop’s overall schedule.
When it helps—and when it does not
Single-harvest crops
For a crop harvested once, faster growth can move the harvest earlier. This can be useful when you need a crop to mature before a season ends or want to fit more planting cycles into the same season, provided the crop and planting dates make that possible.

Multi-harvest crops
For crops that produce again after the first harvest, Speed-Gro affects growth leading to the first harvest, not the interval between repeat harvests. Do not count on it to make subsequent produce arrive sooner.
Fertilizer persistence
In a greenhouse, fertilizer remains in the soil until removed. Outside it, fertilizer usually disappears at a season transition, with listed exceptions for multi-season crops. This matters if you plan to keep using the same fertilized soil; see the official fertilizer reference for persistence details.

Choosing between growth and quality fertilizer
Choose a growth fertilizer such as Deluxe Speed-Gro when earlier maturity is the goal. Ordinary Speed-Gro offers a lower growth tier, while Hyper Speed-Gro is a higher one. Quality fertilizers serve a different purpose: they improve crop quality rather than growth speed. The best choice depends on whether you value an earlier first harvest, better-quality produce, or the ingredients and shop cost required for the fertilizer.
