Usually, you should not expect a GameSir gamepad to work with PS5-format games on a PS5. PlayStation says PS5 games can only be played with DualSense wireless controllers. Supported PS4 games running on the same console follow a different rule: DUALSHOCK 4 and officially licensed third-party gamepads can work with them. The distinction is the game’s format, not just the console you own.
GameSir compatibility depends on the game’s format
PlayStation’s current backward-compatibility guidance says PS5 games can only be played with DualSense wireless controllers. It separately says supported PS4 games on PS5 can be played with a DualSense, a DUALSHOCK 4, or an officially licensed third-party gamepad. PlayStation cautions that not every third-party or licensed controller is compatible with every game.
That means a GameSir controller’s third-party status alone does not establish that it is licensed by PlayStation or compatible with a particular PS4 game. Check the exact controller model and the game’s format rather than relying on the fact that the game is running on a PS5.

What GameSir’s own information establishes
GameSir’s X2s Bluetooth FAQ lists PC, iOS, and Android and describes mobile and cloud gaming use. It does not list PS5. That is evidence about the X2s Bluetooth specifically—not proof that every GameSir product has the same compatibility, nor evidence that another GameSir model works with PS5-format games.

Which controller should you use for a PS5 game?
If your goal is playing PS5-format software, the evidence-backed choice is Sony’s DualSense wireless controller, the controller PlayStation names for PS5 games. Sony’s 2020 PS5: The Ultimate FAQ also distinguishes licensed PS4 standard gamepads—which work with PS4 games played on PS5—from PS5 games, for which those gamepads are not supported.
