To complete Out of the Forest, Into the Forge in Dragon’s Dogma 2, finish The Ailing Arborheart, bring Doireann a rotten apple and rotten fish so she can make nutriabh, then take the dish to Sara at Brokkr’s Smithy in Bakbattahl. Follow Sara to the cave and gather Scalecinder before completing the remaining handoffs.
Before you begin: complete The Ailing Arborheart
This side quest follows The Ailing Arborheart. After completing it, return to Doireann at Sacred Arbor to continue the quest. The quest database frames the errand around nutriabh, an elven dish that dwarves apparently consider a delicacy: “Though reviled by its creators, the elven dish nutriabh is apparently a delicacy among dwarves. And so a path to gwyfencha is opened; may your nose survive the trek.” Kiranico’s quest database lists the game’s objectives, while the walkthrough steps below follow the practical sequence described by PowerPyx and Game8.

How to make nutriabh for Doireann

At Sacred Arbor, speak with Doireann and get the request for an apple and fish.

Let both ingredients spoil in your inventory until they are rotten. You can pass time while carrying them, or use rotten apples and rotten fish already in your inventory.

Return to Doireann and deliver the rotten apple and rotten fish. She will make nutriabh for you to take to Sara.
The ingredients need to be rotten when you hand them over; fresh apple and fish do not satisfy this part of the errand. The guides describe waiting while carrying the items as the way to let them age.
Where to deliver nutriabh and find Scalecinder

Search the cave floor for Scalecinder piles. They can look green, and some may be tucked behind breakable objects; Gamer Guides’ walkthrough notes both details.

Gather the amount requested during the sequence, then return to Sara and continue the handoff. The quest flow includes checking in with Sara later, bringing nutriabh again, procuring more rotten ingredients, and following Doireann; follow the active objective prompts to finish these remaining stages.

Move promptly while gathering: the walkthroughs describe a limited collection window. One guide suggests collecting six Scalecinder, but the quest database says to gather “plenty” and the sources do not establish six as a universal required total.

Doireann may offer a Ferrystone, and using it with a suitable Portcrystal can shorten the journey. These are conveniences, not stated quest requirements; without them, travel by the ordinary available route.
