This checklist gives each spell’s acquisition route and the quest, boss, or area progression it requires; other spells that sound or feel legendary do not count.

Legendary sorceries
Comet Azur
Travel to Mt. Gelmir and speak with Primeval Sorcerer Azur at the site of grace near Hermit Village. The route described by the guides begins from Erdtree-Gazing Hill and continues through the mountains. Interact with Azur to receive Comet Azur.
Stars of Ruin
- After obtaining Comet Azur, return to Sorceress Sellen at Waypoint Ruins in Limgrave.
- Show Sellen the sorcery and continue her dialogue until she gives you the Sellian Sealbreaker.
- Go to Sellia Hideaway in Caelid. Use the sealbreaker on the magic barrier, then interact with Master Lusat to obtain Stars of Ruin.
This is the only spell in the list that directly depends on first collecting another required spell and advancing an NPC’s dialogue.
Founding Rain of Stars
At Heretical Rise in the Mountaintops of the Giants, the spell is in a chest at the top of the tower. The direct approach is blocked: reach the opposite side of the canyon and follow the invisible bridge toward the tower. Visible patches of mist mark the bridge’s path. Move carefully along them rather than stepping blindly into the gap.

Ranni’s Dark Moon
Progress Ranni’s questline until you reach the Moonlight Altar in Liurnia. There, find Chelona’s Rise and activate its seal puzzle. The tower opens after you locate three great wise beasts, which appear as spirit turtles. Enter the tower and collect Ranni’s Dark Moon.
Legendary incantations
Elden Stars
Reach Deeproot Depths through Nokron. After defeating Radahn, enter Nokron and continue to the Valiant Gargoyles encounter; the route onward uses a coffin. In Deeproot Depths, follow the cave passage through the large ants to reach Elden Stars.
Flame of the Fell God
Find Malefactor’s Evergaol in Liurnia of the Lakes and defeat its occupant, Adan, Thief of Fire. The incantation is the reward for the fight.
Greyoll’s Roar
Defeat Elder Dragon Greyoll near Fort Faroth in Caelid. Then visit the Cathedral of Dragon Communion and purchase Greyoll’s Roar for three Dragon Hearts.
Patch history and current-version context
Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe’s version 1.07 patch notes, dated October 13, 2022, document balance changes to Stars of Ruin, Founding Rain of Stars, and Flame of the Fell God. For Founding Rain of Stars, the notes say FP and stamina consumption were reduced, the delay before damage was shortened, and the star rain’s range was extended. Those notes are historical patch context, not confirmation of the game’s current live version.
