The title appears outdated or mismatched: Epic currently lists Chapter 7 Season 4: Override, with its Battle Pass ending November 1, 2026, Eastern Time. That end date is not an announcement that Chapter 6 Season 5—or any particular next season—will launch after Halloween.
Is Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 5 coming after Halloween?
Epic’s current Fortnite pages identify the active season as Chapter 7 Season 4: Override, not Chapter 6 Season 5. The official pages consulted do not give a release date for Chapter 6 Season 5. That makes the title’s claim unsupported by the available official schedule, rather than a confirmed post-Halloween launch announcement. Epic’s Fortnite page and the Epic Games Store listing show the current-season label.

When does the current Fortnite season end?
Epic’s Fortnite page currently lists the Chapter 7 Season 4 Battle Pass as ending November 1, 2026, Eastern Time. This is the listed Battle Pass end date; it does not, by itself, establish the start date or chapter and season number of what follows. Epic Support says the current season’s end date appears on the Battle Pass webpage and in the in-game Battle Pass tab. It also cautions that the date may change because of unforeseen factors. Epic Games Support: When does the current Fortnite season end?
How to check the latest schedule
- Check Epic’s Fortnite page: Look for the current Battle Pass and its listed end date at fortnite.com.
- Check in game: Open Fortnite and select the Battle Pass tab to see the current season’s end date, as Epic Support recommends.
- Look for an explicit transition announcement: Treat a Battle Pass end date, a new-season start date, and a limited-time event or mode update as separate schedule details unless Epic directly connects them.
- Recheck close to the listed date: Epic says season end dates can change and points players to its official social channels for updates.
Does Fortnitemares confirm a season launch?
No. Epic’s October 1, 2026 announcement, “The Corruption Spreads in Fortnitemares 2026,” describes October event content. Its surfaced information does not announce a Chapter 6 Season 5 date or establish that the event’s schedule determines the next Battle Royale season.

Past Halloween schedules are not proof of a 2026 season transition, either. In its October 9, 2025 announcement, Epic said Fortnitemares ran until November 1 and that the Reload Nitemare Island would arrive October 10. Those dates applied to that event and mode update; they do not establish the 2026 Battle Royale season schedule. Epic’s Fortnitemares 2025 announcement.
