Fortnite: Galactic Battle was a Star Wars-themed Battle Royale season that began May 2, 2025. It brought four named locations, a blaster-led launch weapon pool, lightsabers and Force abilities, pilotable TIE Fighters and X-wings, and a June 7 narrative finale. The Star Wars Battle Pass progression window also ended June 7, 2025, Eastern Time; these are historical season details, not a current-content or availability guide.
What changed in Galactic Battle?
Epic Games’ May 1, 2025 season overview framed Galactic Battle around an Imperial takeover and a Star Wars combat sandbox. At launch, non-lightsaber weapons were blasters-only. Lightsabers and Force abilities added close-range and mobility options, while TIE Fighters and X-wings made the conflict playable in the air as well as on the ground.
The season’s content arrived in stages, from the May 2 launch through the Death Star Sabotage event on June 7. Epic and StarWars.com announced a weekly rollout; the detailed schedule included Chewbacca content on May 15 in addition to the five-part saga framing.
Where are the new POIs?
Epic named four new locations. Their distinct identities and access details are from Epic’s description, not independent gameplay testing.

Epic’s launch overview listed new and unvaulted blasters. Its range descriptions provide a practical way to distinguish the weapons, but do not establish which was strongest in play.

Blasters could overheat if players held the trigger, so firing continuously was not without a cost. Epic also listed the Thermal Imploder, which could damage nearby structures.

Lightsabers and Force abilities
Players could earn a lightsaber through Force training or loot one from another player. While equipped, a lightsaber could deflect blaster bolts and provide faster sprinting, a double jump, and immunity to fall damage. Force abilities belonged to the player rather than a particular saber, but required a lightsaber to be equipped.
- Hologram Rey: training granted a Blue Lightsaber and Force Push.
- Hologram Emperor Palpatine: training granted a Red Lightsaber and Force Lightning.
- Darth Vader Samurai: defeating him awarded a different red lightsaber and Force Saber Throw.
- Hologram Mace Windu: scheduled for May 8 to teach Force Pull and grant a Purple Lightsaber.
Epic described a hologram Darth Maul offering Force Throw as a rumor, not a confirmed scheduled addition.

How did the TIE Fighters and X-wings work?
These were pilotable vehicles, not just scenery. Epic described the Imperial TIE Fighter as a single-passenger craft equipped with high-powered blasters. The X-wing was presented as a nimble way to cover ground and had laser cannons for aerial dogfights. StarWars.com also said players could pilot and co-pilot X-wings and TIE Fighters.
Epic’s May 1 overview initially said X-wings, TIE Fighters, and the Thermal Imploder would not be in tournaments. On May 2, Epic updated that notice: the Thermal Imploder would be available in tournaments. The update changed the Imploder’s status; it did not say the two aircraft had been added to tournaments.

What did the Battle Pass and related promotions include?
Epic said the Star Wars Battle Pass had free and premium rewards earnable through XP in any Fortnite experience. At the time, premium access cost 1,000 V-Bucks or was available through Fortnite Crew. Named outfits included Apprentice Evie, Poe Dameron, Wookiee Team Leader, and Emperor Palpatine; General Grievous was to be unlocked later through objectives. The progression period ran from May 2 through June 7, 2025, Eastern Time. Those prices, rewards, and dates describe the announced 2025 offer, not a current offer.

Epic also announced a Star Wars + Porsche 911 GT3 RS bundle with Darth Vader, Darth Maul, and Captain Phasma decals. The decals could only be equipped with the Porsche 911 GT3 RS Car Body in the bundle. The post said the bundle would arrive May 2 at 8 p.m. ET and that Star Wars Crocs would arrive in the Shop at the same time. The announcement does not establish present-day availability of those in-game cosmetics or physical products.
In a separate April 29 announcement, Epic said players could link Epic Games and MyDisney accounts for a First Order Stormtrooper Outfit. It also announced a Star Wars Watch Party island where the first two episodes of Star Wars: Tales of the Underworld were to be viewable in Fortnite from May 2 at 10 a.m. ET, ahead of the series’ May 4 Disney+ debut. Epic described this as the first debut of a Disney+ series inside a game. The reward and viewing window were historical announcements.
What can be confirmed about the season now?
The official announcements establish the season’s announced content and schedule, not whether any particular mode, reward, or cosmetic remains accessible on October 8, 2026. They also do not provide player-count, engagement, sales, or performance statistics. For readers interested in the vehicles outside the game, LEGO’s official US catalog lists the TIE Fighter & X-Wing Mash-up building set (75393), a buildable set that can be rebuilt as familiar TIE Fighter and X-wing designs; that is fan merchandise, not a Fortnite accessory or requirement.
