ZERO’s Super Limit-Breaking NEO DLC, released July 30, 2026. But Bandai Namco’s written announcement does not say whether it is a freely selectable transformation, a move, or a cinematic appearance. The safest answer is that the look is part of the NEO conversation—not that the announcement confirms a standalone playable form.
What is confirmed about False Super Saiyan in Sparking! ZERO?
The NEO reveal brought Goku’s False Super Saiyan appearance into discussion of the game. “False Super Saiyan” is the familiar fan-facing label; the official materials cited here do not establish that as the in-game name or settle the form’s canon status.
More importantly for players, Bandai Namco’s announcement does not specify how the appearance works. It does not confirm that Goku can freely transform into it, nor does it identify it as a particular attack or cinematic. Treat the precise gameplay implementation as unconfirmed based on the publisher’s written description.
What does the Super Limit-Breaking NEO DLC add?
Bandai Namco lists the following content for the paid NEO DLC:
#1 Best Overall

- Engage in heart-pounding, high-speed 3D battles that stay true to the anime and video game series
- This game contains breathtaking visuals and authentic combat moves like beam clashes, rush attacks, and movements too quick for the eyes to see
- Step into an arena that reacts to your every action including planet-razing ultimate attacks
- Watch the environment respond with stunning realism, and leave a trail of destruction in your wake as you battle to your heart’s content
- 33 playable characters spanning Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, Dragon Ball Super and Dragon Ball GT.
- Four Episode Battles.
- Four new stages.
- A new solo mode, Limit Breaker Journey.
In the new mode, players develop a chosen character through battles and events. Producer Furutani described it as a way to shape a fighter around a preferred playstyle. The announcement does not identify False Super Saiyan as a selectable character or form within that mode.
How is the free update different from NEO?
Bandai Namco announced a free update alongside the paid DLC, with mechanics including Sparking Boost and Chain Blast. Those update features are separate from the NEO DLC’s paid additions; owning or discussing the free update should not be confused with access to the DLC roster and modes.

Which platforms have NEO?
Bandai Namco America announced NEO for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC through Steam, with Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 versions planned for later. The announcement gives no current Switch release date, and regional store availability can change, so check the relevant platform storefront for the latest status.
NEO is downloadable content, not a boxed physical release. Bandai Namco’s product page distinguishes physical and digital editions of the base game; a base-game edition should not be mistaken for a physical NEO package.

What should players expect before buying?
If the main reason you are interested in NEO is using False Super Saiyan as a sustained, freely selectable transformation, the written announcement does not establish that it works that way. Check released gameplay or the in-game transformation and move lists on your platform before buying on that expectation. The publisher’s announced DLC content is broader: characters, Episode Battles, stages and Limit Breaker Journey.
