Golden Vow is an Elden Ring incantation that boosts damage dealt and reduces damage taken for 80 seconds, according to the community-maintained Eldenpedia listing. It requires 25 Faith and 47 FP, and is found at Corpse-Stench Shack in Mt. Gelmir. It is not the similarly named Golden Vow Ash of War: the skill is weaker, lasts less time, and has different acquisition requirements.
What the Golden Vow incantation does
Eldenpedia lists the incantation’s PvE effect as 15% more damage dealt and 10% less damage taken for 80 seconds. It describes the effect as an aura that also affects nearby allies within 6 meters. The same reference lists a 50-stamina casting cost. These are community-maintained mechanics figures, not values published in the official patch notes.
In PvP, Eldenpedia lists a separate effect: 7.5% more damage dealt and 5% less damage taken. Bandai Namco’s official Patch 1.07 notes confirm that Elden Ring can apply separate damage scaling to weapons, skills, spells, and incantations in player-versus-player play, without affecting single-player or cooperative play. Those notes do not specify Golden Vow’s exact percentages.
Requirements, cost, and location
- Requirement: 25 Faith.
- FP cost: 47 FP per cast.
- Duration: 80 seconds.
- Location: loot at Corpse-Stench Shack in Mt. Gelmir, east of the broken stone bridge on the Road of Iniquity.
Eldenpedia notes that Anastasia, Tarnished-Eater invades at this location. A 2024 guide for Elden Ring v1.10+ also places the incantation at Corpse-Stench Shack; that guide corroborates the location but should not be read as a current version statement. Golden Vow incantation vs. Ash of War
The spell and skill share a name, but they are separate options with different effects and costs. The values below are listed by Eldenpedia for PvE; the guide corroborates the distinction and says the skill version can be acquired in Limgrave.

The Ash of War is a shorter-duration, lower-strength option in the listed PvE figures. Its 40 FP cost and listed effect are from Eldenpedia; the 2024 guide provides the Limgrave acquisition context. Does Golden Vow buff bows?
The available references describe Golden Vow as a general damage buff and do not specifically verify its interaction with bows. They are not enough to state categorically whether every bow attack benefits or how the effect applies to particular damage sources. The listed damage percentages should therefore not be treated as a confirmed bow-specific test result.

Eldenpedia is a community-maintained reference and supplies the detailed duration, costs, and PvE and PvP percentages above. Bandai Namco’s Patch 1.07 documentation establishes the design of separate PvP scaling, but does not publish Golden Vow’s numeric values. Because exact mechanics can change with later balance updates, treat the figures as the values listed by Eldenpedia rather than as official patch-note guarantees.
