This Wrenwood Hotel walkthrough follows Grace Ashcroft’s opening route in Resident Evil Requiem, from the street outside the hotel to the Recreation Room exit. The key progression gates are the Old Key, the cutters for the wired door, and the Emergency Exit Key. It also points out the named documents and items verified along the way; it is not a complete 100% collectible checklist.
Street: reach the hotel
- At the start, open the inventory and examine the Research Report. Rotate it to read it.
- On the street, take the Wrenwood City Guide from the information board.
- Follow the route until the scene sends Grace into an alley. Pass the collapsed scaffolding and enter the hotel by the back route.
Find the Old Key in the bar
The hotel is dark. Use Grace’s flashlight to move through the kitchen and into the bar area. Examine the photograph attached to the bar counter, then turn it over to find the Old Key.
The Old Key unlocks the southern door from the Bar and Lounge toward Reception. This item and its use are described in the Vandal walkthrough and PowerPyx walkthrough.
Reception: collect the brochure and hotel records
- Use the Old Key on the southern door in the Bar and Lounge to reach Reception.
- Pick up the Hotel Brochure from the floor near the reception desk.
- Go behind the desk and enter the office. Open the drawer to find the Closure Notice, then take the Wrenwood Hotel Map from the wall.
Get cutters and open the route to Room 204
Go to the Recreation Room on the first floor. The cutters are on a pool table. Vandal calls the tool Bolt Cutters; Prima Games calls it Wire Cutters. They refer to the tool used to open the wired door.

- Take the cutters from the pool table.
- Use them on the wired door in the Recreation Room.
- Follow the hall to Room 204.
- Inspect the photographs on the bed to trigger the flashback.

Return to Reception for Alyssa’s items
After the flashback, go back to Reception. Move the cart beside the painting and inspect the painting to reveal a briefcase.

- Examine the briefcase and open the notebook inside to obtain Alyssa’s Diary.
- Inspect the case again to find the disc.
- Follow the prompts that follow to obtain the Emergency Exit Key.
Escape through the Recreation Room
With the Emergency Exit Key, run upstairs to the Recreation Room and use it on the Emergency Exit. This is the section’s exit route. The sequence of the painting, briefcase, diary, disc, and key is also laid out in the Prima Games guide and Vandal guide.
