Credits and epilogue: what is the difference?
Supergiant’s September 17, 2020 v1.0 release notes announce “The True Ending” and an epilogue prophecy. They confirm this story content exists, but do not publish a checklist for unlocking it. The detailed steps below come from a player-authored Steam guide, rather than an official developer walkthrough.

In that guide’s account, defeating the Final Boss ten times total brings you to the credits. That is not the epilogue: the guide describes the post-credits period before the epilogue as a separate stage. To trigger Persephone’s epilogue quest, complete the following requirements.

The community guide lists ten total victories as the requirement to reach the credits. If you have already seen them, move on to the post-credits requirements.

Forge at least six bonds with Olympians
Build bonds with six Olympians—the gods and goddesses who give Zagreus boons. The guide says Demeter’s bond counts once it reaches six hearts, including the locked-heart stage.

Learn Persephone’s backstory from Demeter and Zeus
You need to hear both accounts. According to the guide, give Demeter at least five Nectar and speak with her enough to learn her part. For Zeus’s account, speak with him enough after hearing Demeter’s, and make sure you have given Zeus at least one Nectar previously.

Complete ten additional runs after the credits
These are ten more runs beyond the credit milestone. At least one must reach the surface and include a conversation with Hades. The guide says defeating Hades during that particular run is not technically required for this condition.

Speak with Persephone at the House
After meeting the conditions, keep talking to Persephone when she is at the House. The guide says she should offer the epilogue quest shortly afterwards, but does not give a guaranteed number of conversations or attempts.

If the epilogue quest has not appeared
Check the conditions against the player guide’s checklist rather than assuming the credits triggered the epilogue automatically:
- Have you defeated the Final Boss ten times total and seen the credits?
- Have you forged six Olympian bonds, counting Demeter’s six-heart locked-heart stage as the guide describes?
- Have you heard Persephone’s backstory from both Demeter and Zeus, including the Nectar gifts the guide reports?
- Have you completed ten runs since the credits, with at least one reaching the surface and including a conversation with Hades?
- Have you continued speaking with Persephone at the House?
The guide does not establish a fixed wait or exact number of conversations after the last requirement. It also is not an official developer walkthrough; Supergiant’s release notes confirm the epilogue’s existence but do not confirm these individual trigger conditions.

Does platform change the requirements?
No platform-specific difference in the reported story requirements is identified by the sources cited here. Supergiant’s Hades FAQ documents supported platform editions, including a PS4 physical-disc edition and an upgrade path to PS5; it does not document a different epilogue unlock route.
