Set up Ubisoft two-step verification with an authenticator app
- Sign in to Ubisoft Account Management and open Security.
- Find 2-Step Verification and select Activate for the authenticator-app method.
- If prompted to add a recovery phone number, enter it and select Send.
- Open the activation email sent to the address associated with your Ubisoft account. Follow its link and instructions to configure a compatible authenticator app on your smartphone or tablet.
- When activation is complete, save the six recovery codes in a secure place, such as a password manager or secure local storage.
Ubisoft’s published instructions refer to compatible authenticator apps but do not name specific apps. Use an app accepted by the live activation flow rather than assuming a particular one is supported.
Keep and use your recovery codes
Ubisoft describes recovery codes as unique, one-use credentials. Store them somewhere secure that you can reach if your usual verification method is unavailable. Each code can be used only once; after using one, keep track of which codes remain.
Ubisoft provides six codes during activation. Its Help entry on recovery codes was marked updated June 15, 2026; see Ubisoft’s recovery-code guidance.

Manage verification settings or recover access
In the Ubisoft Account Management Security page, you can change the verification method, manage trusted devices, or disable two-step verification. If you still have access to your Ubisoft account, use those controls to update your setup.
If you lose access to both your authenticator and recovery codes, contact Ubisoft Support for help with your account. A November 27, 2018 Rainbow Six Siege post also directed players to Support in that situation, but it is dated and game-specific; it should not be treated as a current universal requirement for every Ubisoft game or platform.

If the activation email does not arrive
The setup depends on an activation email sent to the address on your Ubisoft account. First confirm that you can access that inbox and check Ubisoft Support for current guidance. Ubisoft’s published setup instructions do not provide a detailed current email-delivery troubleshooting procedure, so avoid relying on old game-specific advice for a general account issue.
