You can’t give a pet to another player in Prodigy. The game currently has no trading option for pets or items, according to Prodigy Education Support. You can rescue pets or obtain them through the Pet Store for your own account, but the official instructions do not describe a way to gift or transfer one to a friend.
Can you give a pet to a friend in Prodigy?
No. Prodigy’s official support article, updated July 15, 2026, says, “There is currently no trading option for pets or items.” That means there is no documented in-game method to hand a pet to another player.
How to get pets for your own account
Rescue a pet in battle
Some monsters can be rescued during or after a battle. The monster must have less than 50% health, and you must not have already failed a rescue attempt. A rescue may also cost in-game currency. See Prodigy’s rescue rules for the current details.
Get a pet through the Pet Store
Open the Shops Menu and choose Pet Store. Prodigy’s Pet Store instructions explain that the Surprise Pet Machine can award a random pet. To place a pet’s home in your village, use the Storage Menu. These steps add pets to your own game; they are not a transfer or gift option.

Are buddies transferable?
Buddies are companions that follow your character when equipped. Prodigy says to find them in your backpack and equip one there. Its Buddies FAQ lists the Pet Store and seasonal event vendors as ways to obtain buddies, but does not describe transferring one to another player.
What to do if you want a friend to have a pet
Your friend will need to obtain a pet on their own account, either by rescuing an eligible monster or using the Pet Store. Avoid sharing account credentials as a workaround; the official support instructions provide no pet-gifting method.
