How Do You Fix a Bad Egg in Pokémon?

A Bad Egg does not have one verified fix for every Pokémon game or Pokémon HOME. Identify where it appears and get official support before transferring or deleting data.

There is no verified, universal way to remove or repair a Bad Egg across Pokémon games. First check whether it appears in Pokémon HOME or in a specific game, then contact Pokémon Support with the affected game and platform. Avoid transferring it or deleting account data based on forum advice alone.

First, identify where the Bad Egg appears

“Bad Egg” does not identify one confirmed problem with one cause across every Pokémon game. The steps that might apply depend on whether the entry is in Pokémon HOME or in an individual game, and on the game and platform involved. The official support pages reviewed do not define a universal Bad Egg issue or publish a Bad Egg-specific removal procedure.

  • In Pokémon HOME: note the device, the affected account, and where in HOME the entry appears.
  • In a game: note the game title, platform, and where the entry appears. Advice for one older game or glitch may not apply to another.

What to do safely

  1. Record the issue. Take screenshots and write down the game or app, platform, account details relevant to support, and what you were doing when you noticed the Bad Egg.
  2. Contact Pokémon Support. Use the official Pokémon HOME support category for a HOME issue, or choose the relevant support route for the affected game. The reviewed support category offers general help topics, but no Bad Egg-specific removal instructions.
  3. Wait for guidance before moving or deleting data. Pokémon HOME is a cloud service for moving Pokémon between compatible games and devices, but Nintendo’s documented transfer process is not described as a way to repair or remove a Bad Egg. Its instructions involve selecting the game and Pokémon to move and saving changes: Nintendo’s Pokémon HOME transfer instructions.

Why common forum fixes are risky

Community posts report that some Bad Eggs in Pokémon HOME cannot be removed with ordinary box actions and mention workarounds such as account deletion. These are anecdotal user reports, not verified support guidance; they do not establish a safe, current, or universal fix or explain how to recover other Pokémon or account data. Do not delete an account on that basis.

Likewise, a transfer is not an established repair method. Nintendo explains HOME as a transfer service, and its transfer instructions do not say that moving a Bad Egg removes or repairs it. Do not assume the entry will disappear, or that it will damage a save; neither outcome is established for every game and context.

What is—and is not—established

  • Official guidance supports using Pokémon HOME to move Pokémon between compatible games and devices, not as a Bad Egg repair tool.
  • No verified universal removal command or Bad Egg-specific official procedure is established by the reviewed support pages.
  • Community reports describe differing experiences, but do not prove that one workaround is safe or applies to your game.
  • No physical product or accessory is established as a way to fix Bad Egg data.

If the issue is in an older game or appears connected to a specific glitch, provide that exact title and platform when seeking help. A fix for one game or version should not be assumed to work in another.
