You can also use the EA app: open My Library and select Redeem Code. Console codes must be redeemed through the matching PlayStation, Xbox, or Nintendo option instead.
Before you enter an EA code
- Find the code: If the game is not already on your EA Account, the code may be in your purchase confirmation email, game box, or printed manual.
- Choose the right account: A redeemed game is associated with the EA Account you use. Sign in to the account that should own the game before submitting the code; this is especially important when redeeming for a child.
- Identify what kind of code you have: A product code for a game, a discount promo code, a gift card, and a subscription or virtual-currency code can have different redemption steps.
Redeem an EA game code on PC
On the EA website
- Sign in to the EA Account that should receive the game.
- Open EA’s Redeem page and choose the PC redemption option.
- Enter the product code and select Next.
- After successful redemption, check the account’s game library. EA says the game appears on the account once redemption is complete.
In the EA app
- Sign in to the EA app with the intended EA Account.
- Open My Library and select Redeem Code.
- Enter the product code and follow the on-screen prompts.
Through EA Account Settings
You can also redeem a PC product code through EA Account Settings: open Payment and Wallet, select Redeem a product code, enter the code, and select Next. Find the product shown and confirm the redemption.
Redeem a code for PlayStation, Xbox, or Nintendo
Use the platform’s own redemption process for a console code rather than the PC steps. EA’s Redeem page directs PC codes to its Redeem button and provides matching options for codes intended for other platforms. Follow the option for the console named on your code or its instructions.
Product codes, promo codes, and other code types
Game product code
A product code adds an eligible game or product to the account or platform for which it was issued. For PC, use one of the EA redemption routes above; for a console code, use the relevant platform route.

Discount promo code
A promo code reduces the price of an eligible purchase; enter it during checkout, not in the game product-code redemption flow. EA lists exclusions that can include games released less than a month earlier, virtual currency, memberships or subscriptions, game-time cards, third-party games, and use alongside another current sale or promotion. Restrictions depend on the specific offer, so check the code’s terms before checkout.
Gift cards, subscriptions, and virtual currency
EA gift cards are redeemed from the EA Wallet. Subscription and virtual-currency codes, including SimPoints, use the URL supplied in the code’s instructions. Some Sims 3 bonus-content codes are redeemed on The Sims 3 website. Use the instructions for that particular code type rather than entering it as a standard game product code.

What happens after redemption?
EA says a successfully redeemed game is added to the EA Account used. Digital games bought through the EA app are added to the Library automatically; games bought outside the app, including physical copies, can also be added there. EA notes that some older games cannot be redeemed on the EA app and may only be playable if you still have the disc. Examples EA names include The Sims, The Sims 2, Battlefield 1942, Battlefield Vietnam, Command & Conquer, Medal of Honor, and Crysis. If your code is for one of these legacy titles, check its specific instructions and do not assume the current EA app flow will work.

If the code does not work
- Confirm that you are signed in to the EA Account where the game should live.
- Check that you selected the correct platform and code type; a console code, promo code, gift card, subscription code, or virtual-currency code may not belong in the PC product-code flow.
- For a promo code, verify its checkout terms and whether the purchase is excluded or another discount is already active.
- For an older game or Sims 3 bonus content, use the specific legacy-game or website instructions rather than repeating the standard EA app redemption steps.
- Refer to EA’s current product and promo code instructions for code-specific guidance.
